both 2016 and 2020

and yet he didn’t come home with hardware. This year, Gordon and Derrick Jones Jr. went into a dunk-off for a tiebreaker. Even with Gordon jumping over 7-foot-5 Tacko Fall on a final dunk attempt, Jones Jr. came away with the victory. “It’s a wrap, bro. I feel like I should have two trophies,” Gordon told reporters after the contest on Saturday night. “You what know I mean? So it’s over for that. My next goal is going to be trying to win the 3-point contest.” The final dunk (over Fall) felt like a particularly disappointing scoreline, with Gordon getting a 47 out of 50. “What did I get, like a 47? Come on, man. What are we doing?”

Gordon asked.

Gordon came up with a solution for this situation. “We’re here to do four dunks,” he said. “So, out of four dunks it should be the best of four dunks. I did five straight 50s. That’s over. It’s a wrap. Let’s go home. Four 50s in an NBA Dunk Contest, it’s over. But I don’t know. Who’s running the show?” Gordon was asked whether he felt Dwyane Wade’s connection with Jones Jr as former teammates might have played a role in the final scoreline. Wade was one of five judges and also one of the three judges who gave Gordon a nine on the

final dunk.

“No, I don’t even know who gave me the 9’s,” Gordon said. “I’m going to find them. Trust me. I’m going to find them

tonight.”

The NBA All-Star Game in Chicago tonight kicked off with a pretty incredible and emotional tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant just three weeks after they were two of nine people killed in a helicopter crash

near Los Angeles.

Magic Johnson had the players from both teams stand together and hold hands before asking the sold-out crowd at the United Center for an 8-second moment of silence. Magic then introduced Chicago's own Jennifer Hudson to come out and sing a song for Kobe and Gigi, and it was absolutely beautiful.
