It is based on research conducted by Profundo, the Netherlands based THE NOBEL FOUNDATION ADMITS INVESTMENTS IN NUCLEAR WEAPONS The Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, Olav Njølstad, admits that the Nobel Foundation is invested in companies that produce nuclear weapons, but promises to divest within 12 months. Njølstad admitted that the Nobel Foundation is invested VEIDEKKE IN KENYAN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT: LOCAL PEOPLE Veidekke, a Norwegian construction company, takes part in the development, but claims through their Japanese partner that criticism of the project is unfounded. According to several environmental organisations, the local people have been met with insufficient compensation and broken promises of power supplies and irrigationfacilities.

Collectively, these emissions make up our hidden carbon footprint. Since much of our consumption is located abroad, almost half of Norway’s consumption-based emissions occur outside of Norway’s borders. FISH BECOMES FEED, NOT FOOD Fish becomes feed, not food. The superfish anchoveta is the world's top species and full of nutrients. Despite this it ends up as feed for farmed fish and livestock, rather than on Peruvian dinner plates. The sound of test drilling can be heard several places in the jungle they are dependent on. The land they have inherited from their ancestors is threatened by Norwegian mining operations. In August Yara’s plant on Herøya imported phosphate from occupied West Sahara, contrary to the advice of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ONLY 1% OF COCOA FROM POOR COUNTRIES The figures show an interesting pattern in the import of poor countries’ raw materials: Only 0.28% of the sugar imported to Norway, measured in value, comes from countries outside Europe.
