MONTRÉAL PRIDE WILL OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE PRIDE Following the announcement by the Government of Québec on April 10, that festivals will not be held until August 31, IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT WE MUST CANCEL THE PRIDE PARADE, THE COMMUNITY DAY AS WELL AS ALL PROGRAMMING AT PARC DES FAUBOURGS AND OFFSITE. We wish to reassure the sexual and gender diversity communities, for whom the Montréal Pride team has been working hard for the past few weeks to offer them a different and creative festival that respects social distancing measures! An alternative program of celebrating our LGBTQ+ communities will be offered in the coming weeks. Keep the date from August 6 to 16 in your agenda reserved for a unique 2020 Pride… from home! We remind you of the importance of respecting social distan-cing, washing your hands often and that you are loved! THE ALTERNATIVE MONTRÉAL PRIDE FESTIVAL 2020 STARTS IN105

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather for Montréal Pride is the traditional and unceded territory of the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk). The island called “Montréal” is known as Tiotia:ke in the language of the Kanien’kehá:ka, and it is a place which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst nations, including the Algonquin people.
