We discuss MK4, GTM, 818, Type 65 coupe, roadsters, and more! WHO ELSE HAS HAD THIS FITECH PROBLEM? Who else has had this FITECH problem? UPDATED - RUNS! Let me preface, I did alot of research, and tried a few of the solutions, just posting here for more information and experiences. Just re-assembled the motor, mechanically the motor is fine. I have the 600HP system with the Fuel Commander. Fuel commander is under-hood, rear center behindengine.
STRAIGHT AXLE OR IRS? What I basically came down to (as is reflected above) is that the IRS is better in every way over the straight axle - only downside is cost (and it can be a significant cost increase). That said, I personally decided to go with the IRS because it is one of the few items that you can't really retrofit after the fact (unlike Wilwoods and the like WHAT ARE EASYEST / HARDEST COLORS TO PAINT YOURSELF Black is probably the hardest because the body needs to be really straight, black will show all the imperfections, this is also true to a lesser degree, with any of the darker colors. The new basecoat paints are much more forgiving but they are only as good as the underlying body work. Spend your time on the body and your effort willshow in

The early E-M's are what I call a "flat chassis" design which usually means fiberglass cockpit tub with NO reinfocement framing above the main rails. I don't have a good picture of their original chassis other than the photo in an old "The Complete Guide to CobraReplicas".

This one is finished to the point where it is running and driving and passed state inspection and is Titled in OHIO. All new parts were used except for the Engine block which was completely gone through with all new internals, stroked and FITECH! STARTING PROBLEMS 1) 96R3 battery (590/740CCA with reserve 95m) in the back with a 4 ga positive to the starter. FFR 4Ga has been shortened to correct length. ( I know, ya'll switch it to 1Ga, but I don't think that's the reason it wont start) 2) Fitech red battery wire extended to reach the back battery and fastened to the battery at the positive post. He had experienced some interference from the distributor in other cars and recommended putting one on. Found a scrap piece of aluminum, door trim, heat insulation and a toolbox drawer mat. Fabricated two brackets that mount to the Holley mountingbolts.
BLOCK CASTING NUMBERS Casting number D4AE-6015-AA is a 71-74 351W block. Ford part number is D1AZ-6015-E. The date code will tell you the exact year/date/month. Date code is the number/letter/number (s) below the casting number. First number is the year ex: 4 = 74. The letter is the month cast. Starting with A for Jan to M for Dec skipping the letter "I". WHAT SIZE ALTERNATOR DO I NEED, AMP WISE? The 3G alternator was designed to address a problem with the 2G - not enough output under 2,000 rpm. It's about doubled, and a lot of the Mustang and Pro-touring are retrofitting them because of it - even non - Ford owners. Be advised, a 1000 watt subwoofer PCV VS BREATHER VS VENTED BREATHER PCV or breathers are your choice but, depending on your State regulations, you may require a PCV system for inspection and registration. Eddie: Consider this your official Holley info. The solid side with the hole in it toward the float bowl is the correct way. I would recommend that you pitch those in carb filters and go with an external filter of some kind. STRAIGHT AXLE OR IRS? What I basically came down to (as is reflected above) is that the IRS is better in every way over the straight axle - only downside is cost (and it can be a significant cost increase). BLOCK CASTING NUMBERS Casting number D4AE-6015-AA is a 71-74 351W block. Ford part number is D1AZ-6015-E. The date code will tell you the exact year/date/month. Date code is the number/letter/number (s) below the casting number. First number is the year ex: 4 = 74. The letter is the month cast. Starting with A for Jan to M for Dec skipping the letter "I". HELP WITH PROFORM 650 CARB ADJUSTMENT Idle Mixture screws; found some references to start at 3/4 turn out on all 4 screws and work out slowly the same amount on all 4 to achieve the highest rpm or manifold vacuum. Does this sound correct. Throttle plates at Idle; found a reference on this forum to adjust the throttle position screws so about 1mm of the slot is visible, then use RF SHIELD FOR HOLLEY SNIPER John Dol. Under direction of Mark D. I build an RF shield for my Holley Sniper. He had experienced some interference from the distributor in other cars and recommended putting one on. Found a scrap piece of aluminum, door trim, heat insulation and a toolbox drawer mat. Fabricated two brackets that mount to the Holley mountingbolts.

What is the best method of detemining TDC on a 302 with the heads on. My dampener does not have a timing mark. To do rough timings, I have used the straw in the cylinder, but this does not seem to be too exact, as there is some flex in the straw, especially given the angle.I have not seen a
FRONT HEADLIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS WIRING Headlights and front turn are similar to rear lights. There are 4 wires at each rear corner. Running lights, turn, brake, and ground. The rear lights are identical. One will be turn, the other will be brake. Split your running light wire and ground into 2 wires with a splice. This gives you 6 wires now. I place the brackets on the dash before covering with flat head screws, so they're invisible if you get them perfectly flat. Also locate them where they're reachable with anextension

What he told me was that all it does is straighten the wheels faster. Anything over 3 or so with ps is just going to wear the tires out extremely fast so that is what i had him set mine to. HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MINE The only thing you will need is a fuel pressure regualator for EFI and weld an O2 bung into the headers. I am running the Aeromotive A1000 pump with the A1000 carbed bypass regulator. I just need to switch to the A1000-6 injected bypass regulator. Great question, Joe. I chose the IRS and glad I did, It was an easy decision, because I had the donor 2016 Mustang GT. The rear differential, wheel hubs and brakes are repurposed very nicely withthe IRS from FFR.
