It is an OpenSCAD script that lets the user set the seed well size, depth, shape, number and offset to generate a 3D printable model. It is intended to be used to generate custom seed rollers to suit your specific seed spacing and quantity requirements. Please see Documentation below. BICYCLE POWERED FANNING MILL Complete plans for building a bicycle powered fanning mill. The fanning mill sorts, cleans, and grades seeds with two shaking screens and a winnowing tower. It is adjustable for all sorts of crops and operations. It can clean up to ten pounds per minute. SOLAR POWERED OFF-GRID PASTURE MONITORING SYSTEM WITH WIFI ACCESS This system was setup to allow me to monitor my bison in my fairly isolated ranch in southern Virginia from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. It is solar powered and connected to the Internet via a mobile broadband device. Images are captured every 1.5 minutes from two webcams connected to a Raspberry Pi computer. Every hour a Python script on the Raspberry Pi places the past hours photographs in a zip file, and sends it to me in an email.CROP HOPPER
The Crop Hopper is a zero turn lawn mower converted into a cultivation tractor. Its equipped with spinning weeders like a "Regi weeder" that are controlled by the operator's hands while steering with foot peddles. It also has hilling discs, rear tire sweeps and a high clearance compost/harvest cart. This machine is being developed to address the need for affordable precision cultivation equipment, especially on sloped and rough land.ROOT WASHER

OPEN PIPE KIT- SENSOR DATA COLLECTOR A Pipe is a device that directs the flow of data from a sensor to the place of the Pipe owner's choosing. With Open Pipe Kit it's easy to build Pipes, even for folks who don't program. That means a Pipe will be in the places where you can't always be and you'll always know what is going on. HOOP CHICKEN TRAILER A simply constructed 28’ Hoop Chicken Trailer for up to 150 birds. It is designed to be light weight enough to be moved by a very small tractor or ATV and have easy access to food and water for several days and provide easy access to clean egg collection. HOME BUILT NO-TILL SEED DRILL This is my home built no-till seed drill I use for planting legume mix winter cover crop seed in our stone fruit orchard. It produces very uniform seed spacing and depth with minimal soil disturbance, allowing optimum germination in our dry farmed environment.PACKING TABLE
This is a rolling table with under and over shelves designed for packing vegetables or other crops. It has an adjustable work height to accommodate users of different heights and different tasks. It was designed and built for the Small Farms program at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center in Aurora, Oregon with a Clackamas Extension Innovation Grant. AUTO-FILL HIGH OUTPUT TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED HUMIDIFIER This project turns a 5 gallon bucket into a high capacity (4 gal/day), automatic fill humidifier. The bucket serves as a reservoir for the water and also as a mounting platform for the parts required to operate the humidifier. Water heated to a know temperature will transfer a predictable amount of water vapor to an air stream of a known temperature and humidity (wet bulb temperature). We use this property to develop a highly controlled humidifier using a temperature control to sense water temperature and control the heater, tank deicer for heat, and a CPU fan for air flow. We also add a toilet fill valve to the assembly to allow for automatic fill of the humidifier. NOTE: Pictures shown from the first build do not include complete safety features including: electronics enclosure, GFCI protected circuit / outlet, and terminal covers. Please take care when wiring and using this design to ensure personnel and property protection. TOUGH INEXPENSIVE PASTURED PIG WATERER Pigs are tough on equipment. This simple water system doesn't tip in a pasture situation, stays clean and prevents the pigs from disturbing the hose connection. BICYCLE POWERED THRESHER Complete instructions for making a bicycle powered thresher. Thresher works on various crops including dry beans, wheat, rice, rye, einkorn, and lupine. Threshes about one pound per minute. This is the first of three tools for small scale grain processing designed to allow small farms to dabble in grain. The other two tools are the bicycle powered fanning mill and the bicycle powered de-huller/flour mill. CONCEPTUAL SCALED 'FARMBOT' Inspired by the farmbot and other open source ideas, this is a concept I've been thinking about and finally did a quick sketchup to better explain it to some friends. HEATED GREENHOUSE TABLE Heated greenhouse tables serve two main purpose on the small market garden veggie farm. First, it offers a place with a fairly constant temperature to ensure high germination rates. Not too unlike the Sweat Box Germination Chamber (http://farmhack.net/tools/sweat-box-germination-chamber), However, this tool allows us to continue growing the seedlings under optimal conditions until they get a bit stronger. Secondly, we can get some onion plants out to the greenhouse to free up room in our seedling room. We start onions and greenhouse tomatoes under lights in the basement, then move them out to the greenhouse when we are ready to start heating the greenhouse/nursery. FLOW-THROUGH VERMICOMPOSTER The purpose of this tool is to provide a space to vermicompost a variety of waste ( animal manure, food scraps, or other organic waste) with worms and produce safe worm castings, a valuable resource. The worm castings can be utilized in a variety of ways on the farm or sold to other farms and gardeners. BLACK SOLDIER FLY AS A FEED ALTERNATIVE FOR AQUACULTURE Main Street Farms received a SARE Farmer grant for on-farm research of Black Soldier Flies larvae (BSFL) as an alternative food-source for aquaculture and livestock. We plan to raise and breed BSFL in a heated green house year-round to find the ratio of pounds of larvae to pounds of food waste can be produced in a given month. The larvae will be fed cafeteria food waste, coffee grounds, and compost from other areas ofthe farm.
