FARESHARE - GETTING FOOD At FareShare, we save good food from going to waste. We redistribute surplus food from some of the UK’s top food companies to more than 11,000 charities and community groups. If your organisation uses food to support people, then you can sign up to receive food too. We offer two options for getting food – a paid for service with a FareShare Community Food Membership or the opportunity to FOOD SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS Red Cross volunteers from the psychosocial and mental health team are on-hand to provide both practical and emotional support, and connect people with additional support in their local area. The support line telephone number is 0808 196 3651 and it’s open daily from 10am to 6pm. The service is free, and completely confidential.SOUTHERN CENTRAL
Operating since April 2014, FareShare Southern Central provides good quality food to charities and community organisations in Hampshire. Thames Valley. FareShare Thames Valley redistributes food to South Oxfordshire charities from its base in Didcot. The team also provide warehouse training opportunities to those out of work in the local area. Hull & Humber. FareShare Hull & Humber redistributes surplus food from the food industry to more than 120 organisations throughout the region, with more signing up every day to become Community Food Members (CFMs). This means that their network of CFMs is now feeding more than 10,500 people every week who are directly affected by foodpoverty.

Sussex. FareShare Sussex was established in 2002 by City Gate Community Projects. The team redistributes surplus food to organisations within the city of Brighton and Hove and the Worthing area, which feed vulnerable groups. FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 17 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups.WHAT WE DO
The food we redistribute is nutritious, in-date and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week we provide enough food to create almost a million meals forvulnerable people.
