Fair Wear is an independent not-for-profit foundation. Independence is guaranteed by a tripartite (multi-stakeholder) board, in which business associations, trade unions and (labour) NGOs are equally represented. Fair Wear is an independent not-for-profit foundation. Independence is guaranteed by a tripartite (multi-stakeholder) board, in which business associations, trade unions and (labour) NGOs are equally represented. The board represents three types of stakeholder organisations, with an independent chair. MAMMUT - FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION What started as a small family-based rope factory in 1862 has become a global innovative outdoor and sportswear brand. MAMMUT stands for swiss quality, for high performance and long lasting mountain equipment. In 2008 we joined Fair Wear Foundation as one of the first outdoor brands. FAIR WEAR LAUNCHES LIVING WAGE STUDY WITH THE EUROPEAN Payment of a living wage is a key point in the FWF Code of Labour practices – and one of the most difficult elements to implement. Wages are linked to the prices brands negotiate with factories, however several complex questions need to be addressed to ensure that workers see actual improvements.HOW WE WORK
We’re tackling complex problems by uncovering new solutions and driving step-by-step improvements that create real change for the people who work in garment factories. Four key activities make up the Fair Wear approach: brand performance checks, factory audits,LABOUR STANDARDS
The basis of the collaboration between Fair Wear and a member is the Code of Labour Practices (or Labour Standards). The core of this code is made up from eight labour standards derived from ILO Conventions and the UN’s Declaration on Human Rights. BECOME A MEMBER BRAND Become a member brand. We help conscious clothing brands create lasting change. We support brands that are determined to find a fairer way to make their clothes. We meet brands where they are – so that any brand can start its journey with us and take continued, practical steps to improve working conditions for people in garment factories. TAKING ACTION IN PRODUCTION COUNTRIES Taking action in production countries. The majority of Fair Wear’s work focuses on eleven priority countries: Bangladesh, Bulgaria, China, India, Indonesia, North Macedonia, Myanmar, Romania, Tunisia, Turkey, and Vietnam.
