THE OLDEST TIME BANK IN THE UK, HERE’S HOW IT ALL STARTED A project is launched in Stroud by Fair Shares and Open House (Five Valleys Foyer) which is a housing project for young people. The aim is to offer the opportunity for young people and older people to meet each other and benefit from the other person's skills and knowledge. 15,000 MEALS COOKED & DELIVERED! 15,000 meals cooked & delivered! 26th March 2021. Share. Friday the 26th February marked our 15,000th meal cooked and delivered! Together with The Friendship Cafe and a team of dedicated community champions we’ve been making freshly cooked meals every weekday and delivering them to those in the local community ever since the first lockdown. DOWN AT THE ALLOTMENT Down at the Allotment. 26th August 2020 allotment. Share. Lots has been happening down at our allotment, thanks to Rachel and various volunteers. We’ve had a bumper crop of tomatoes, strawberries, onions and courgettes as well as lots of parsley, chives and other herbs. Visitors to the allotment have been able to take some of the

produce away

City Farm Allotment. Our allotment and food growing projects are hands on and therapeutic ways to get back to nature. It’s more than just food growing though; we are trying to create a community space at the City Farm for people to come and be involved with. Participants come with all levels of skills and abilities and get involved in STROUD | FAIR SHARES Stroud. Our Stonehouse time bank was established in 1998 as Britain’s first time bank and we continue to be a strong presence in the community. Since then we have extended across the district to cover the Stroud area and Dursley. The time bank has 350+ individual members and 40+ organisational members. 80% of our members are aged

50+ and we

GLOUCESTER | FAIR SHARES Gloucester. Set up in the year 2000, the Gloucester Time Bank is one of the largest and most dynamic time banks in England. We have participants from all over the city, from all walks of life, and it’s this great mix of people that makes our time bank what it is. We have over 350 participants and over 70 organisations in the time

Paths have been tidied, raised beds fixed and netting added to the fruit cage. More bulbs have been planted and seed potatoes are chitting – a process where light encourages shoots to appear before planting. GEM - GOING THE EXTRA MILE - FAIR SHARES GEM. The GEM Project is an employability and social inclusion programme, helping people in Gloucestershire to overcome challenges to employment and move them closer towards or into work. MEN'S SHED | FAIR SHARES Men’s Shed. 26th July 2017 Dementia Learning New Skills Men's Group Outdoor Projects Woodworking. Share. For the last year Fair Shares has helped to organise a twice monthly men’s group, which meets at the Old Crown pub at Paganhill in Stroud. The men vary in age and ability with some coming from local care homes such as Cotswold House at STONEHOUSE ALLOTMENT PROJECT Stonehouse Allotment Project. The Fair Shares Stonehouse allotment is a plot for communal use and is overseen by participant Clare Sheridan. Members come when they can and help with what they are able to do. The site has some raised beds and wide paths so less able people can join in with planting, weeding and harvesting.

Share. Now that Spring is in the air we’ve began our preparations down at the allotment. Paths have been tidied, raised beds fixed and netting added to the fruit cage. More bulbs have been planted and seed potatoes are chitting – a process where light encourages shoots to appear before planting. For the last year Fair Shares has helped to organise a twice monthly men’s group, which meets at the Old Crown pub at Paganhill in Stroud. The men vary in age and ability with some coming from local care homes such as Cotswold House at STONEHOUSE ALLOTMENT PROJECT Stonehouse Allotment Project. The Fair Shares Stonehouse allotment is a plot for communal use and is overseen by participant Clare Sheridan. Members come when they can and help with what they are able to do. It’s more than just food growing though; we are trying to create a community space at the City Farm for people to come and be involved with. The GEM Project is an employability and social inclusion programme, helping people in Gloucestershire to overcome challenges to employment and move them closer towards or into work. It is a unique partnership of nearly 50 community based organisations, managed by Gloucestershire Gateway Trust on behalf of the lead organisation 15,000 MEALS COOKED & DELIVERED! 15,000 meals cooked & delivered! 26th March 2021. Share. Friday the 26th February marked our 15,000th meal cooked and delivered! Together with The Friendship Cafe and a team of dedicated community champions we’ve been making freshly cooked meals every weekday and delivering them to those in the local community ever since the first lockdown.

STONEHOUSE ALLOTMENT PROJECT Stonehouse Allotment Project. The Fair Shares Stonehouse allotment is a plot for communal use and is overseen by participant Clare Sheridan. Members come when they can and help with what they are able to do. The site has some raised beds and wide paths so less able people can join in with planting, weeding and harvesting.
