SMELT BAY PROVINCIAL PARK Smelt Bay Provincial Park on Cortes Island is named after the thousands of capelin fish that spawn in the fall along the shoreline. These small silver-green fish attract a variety of other marine life to the area, including salmon, seals, sea lions, seabirds and otters. Marine Sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. Marine sites are user maintained, please practice “Leave No Trace” camping ethics and use campfire rings. CAMPING FEE. $13 per boat / night. FILLONGLEY PROVINCIAL PARK Located on peaceful Denman Island, Fillongley Provincial Park is a short 10-minute ferry crossing from Buckley Bay (located between Qualicum Beach and the town of Courtenay). Fillongley is a popular small campground. It has 10 oceanside, compact campsites. It is 100% reservable and reservations are strongly recommended due to thelimited number
SMELT BAY PROVINCIAL PARK Smelt Bay Provincial Park on Cortes Island is named after the thousands of capelin fish that spawn in the fall along the shoreline. These small silver-green fish attract a variety of other marine life to the area, including salmon, seals, sea lions, seabirds and otters. Bald eagles, cormorants, herons and oystercatchers can also be foundhere.
MAIN LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK (WILDERNESS CAMPING) Main Lake Provincial Park is a backcountry park with marine campsites that visitors can access by boat. The 3 530 hectare park was established in 1996 and is known for its fabulous fishing, birdwatching, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking opportunities. People looking to camp in a rustic setting enjoy the wilderness camping available at this park. CHRISTINA LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK (DAY-USE) Christina Lake is popular for swimming and all water activities. It is known as one of the warmest lakes in Canada. There are no lifeguards on duty. This day-use area has a large sandy beach and is great for families. It is very popular during the summer. Motor boat activities are popular on Christina Lake. Boat launch at Texas Creek campground VASEUX LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK Vaseux Lake: A Great Roadside Stop for Campers and Anglers. Vaseux Lake Provincial Park is a popular roadside campground that provides excellent fishing opportunities for bass, trout and carp. This park boasts beautiful lakeside sites with easy lake access. It is JEWEL LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK Jewel Lake: The Perfect Destination for Anglers and Outdoor Enthusiasts. Located only 12 kms east of Greenwood off Hwy 3, Jewel Lake Provincial Park offers camping, canoeing and fishing opportunities in a stunning wilderness setting. It is a popular rustic campground that attracts fishermen, campers and people looking to explore the great outdoors. ELK FALLS PROVINCIAL PARK All fees are cash only. For reservations call: 1-800-689-9025. For more information call: 250-850-7125. There are 122 campsites at this park. 70 sites at this park are reservable.
