RE-OPEN OR REOPEN
Dear All, Can you tell me how i would know that I need or not to use dash to connect a prefix (e.g. re-) to a verb (e.g. open). Please refer to these: Please advise if we need to re-open the ticket or create a new one. Please advise if we need to reopen the ticket or create a new one. Many thanks. WHICH ONE IS CORRECT? 1) "The original invoice will be sent to you by mail." means "The original invoice is still with us and will be sent later ". 2. "The original invoice will send to you by mail." is incorrect because it means "the original invoice" will send something. ( Substitute "manager" for "original invoice" in the sentence and you will see whatI mean.) 3.
DOES / DO ANYONE OF YOU KNOW? 1. is correct. 2. is incorrect. However, if you delete "one" the sentence is OK. Do any of you know? As a short response, "Quite many" is not something I would ever say or write, and it sounds quite unnatural to me. If someone used that response, I would expect it to be some sort of local slang, or possibly even a sarcastic response. I would expect the most likely response to be "Quite a few." "Quite a lot" would also becommon.

ADMISSION OR ADMISSIONS Dear teachers: Why do you usually say 'admissions policy/office' instead of 'admission policy/office'? Generally we do not use plural forms of noun in adjectival use. For instance, we say 'a flower garden(NOT a flowers garden)' or 'a shoe shop(NOT a shoes shop)', etc. Of course, I know we have to use plural forms when plural forms have different meanings form singular forms, such as 'arms race 'IN THE GARDEN' OR 'AT THE GARDEN' 1). The family is having a picnic in the garden. 2). The family is having a picnic at the garden. Thank you. 1. (Suppose that the garden is surrounded by a wall. In the garden means inside the wall. At the garden means outside but near the wall). I FEEL MY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IS/ARE AN EXCELLENT MATCH Location. USA. Posts. 10,884. Originally Posted by Tan Guat Lay.
