OUR RESEARCH
Our research. Our work is all about bringing people together, with the aim to create happier and healthier communities, where people know one another and neighbourhoods thrive. We connect people through our events, experiences and networks, encouraging everyday people to make positive change where they live. We undertake research to understand THE BIG JUBILEE LUNCH: 2 To celebrate HM The Queen’s 70 year reign, there is a special four-day Bank Holiday Weekend planned, from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June.Buckingham Palace has announced an exciting programme of events for the extra-long weekend and together we are once again inviting communities across the UK to come together for ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’ on Sunday 5 June 2022.THE BIG LUNCH
The Big Lunch is your chance to celebrate community connections and get to know one another a little better. The big date from 5 June - join in online, on your doorstep, or over the fence. It's on. It might be a little different again, but this year there are more reasons than ever to get together for community, friendship and fun. JOIN IN AND CELEBRATE WITH THE MONTH OF COMMUNITY Despite the difficult times for every one of us during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people feel that there have been some positive things to come out of this time. Spending more time at home and being more present in our communities has brought with it a heartening wave of community action, seeing neighbours talking and supporting one another far more than ever before. DEEP ROOTS NEW SHOOTS Deep Roots New Shoots is a programme of nature-based play activities for under-5s and their families. The programme initially focused on supporting grandparents who regularly provide childcare for their grandchildren, with weekly sessions and events at the Eden Project. SEED A WILDFLOWER MEADOW You will need. A sunny spot — a front garden, community garden or somewhere that needs a bit of brightening up in your neigbourhood. The good news is that most wildflowers prefer poor quality soil and add a welcome burst of colour to the area. Wildflower seeds — you might like to try the environmental charity Landlife's Signature Wildflower Seed Mix, or free seeds from Grow Wild. HOW TO RECOGNISE A LIGHTHOUSE: THE IMPORTANCE OF SAYING A while ago I was having a conversation with a woman I had never met before, at one of our Community Camps down at the Eden Project (find out more about those amazing experiences here), all about loneliness of lighthouses.
