ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Since its launch in 2011, the Litter Less Campaign has educated over three million students around the world about the challenges of litter and waste in their communities and empowered them to become leaders driving sustainability and positive behavioural change. Phase IV of the Litter Less Campaign was launched in 2019 and will be implementedCOMPETITION
The competition is open to every student who is or wants to be part of the Eco-Schools, YRE or LEAF programmes as well as registered International Schools. Students from outside the network can also submit entries and receive a certificate of participation, but the entry cannot be awarded.WHAT IS LITTER?
Litter is waste in the wrong place. Litter comes from different sources, and different people. For instance, it may be intentional litter by motorists discarding litter out of windows, pedestrians dropping litter on the street or footpaths, or people on picnics and at other public space events. Another source of TURN WASTE INTO ART! Turn Waste into Art! Nicole Andreou. September 11, 2019. At the beginning of 2018, when TED Ankara College Foundation Kindergarten was developing their Action Plan, the Eco Committee talked a lot about the sustainability of materials, reusing and up-cycling. They shared ideas about how to save energy and materials to promote sustainability. PORTUGAL — ECO SCHOOLS The ClimACT project aims to support the transition to a low-carbon economy in schools. ECO-SCHOOLS IS THE LARGEST GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE SCHOOLS PROGRAMME – IT STARTS IN THE CLASSROOM AND EXPANDS TO THE COMMUNITY BY ENGAGING THE NEXT GENERATION IN ACTION-BASED LEARNING. _The programme’s greatest achievement is arguably the fact that it produces generation after generation of sustainably minded, environmentally conscious people. These individuals will carry the behavioural patterns they uptake under the auspices of Eco-Schools with them through life, in turn teaching the next generation the habits to make a difference._ -------------------------CHANGING TOGETHER
