DIGITAL RADIOLOGY

DiagnoseZentrumUrania has been fully digitized since 2004, which has led to a marked reduction in the radiation dose of X-ray procedures. Depending on the area of the body being examined, patients are requested to undress and remove any jewelry and dentures. Patients are then admitted to the examination room.

BONE DENSITOMETRY

The Examination: Patients are requested to change into a gown when necessary. Metal objects should be removed from the area to be examined. Using weak X-rays, the bone densitometry scanner creates images of the lumbar spine and the hip. The patient should not move while the images are being obtained. The entire examination takes

about 10 minutes.

REPORTS & RESULTS

Generally, you can pick up your images and reports of mammography , ultrasound , fluoroscopy , X-rays und bone densitometry shortly after your examination. FOR PATIENTS

DZU is one of the best diagnostic centers in the German-speaking world. Spanning a total area of about 2,500 square metres, the center offers the most modern X-ray procedures available. Currently, DZU's staff comprises 11 radiologists, 3 doctors in training, 27 radiologic technologists and 30 administrative staff members, as well as 4 staff members who ensure that the premises are neat and clean.

HISTORY | DZU

The beginnings of Diagnose Zentrum Urania date back to the final stages of World War II, when the general practitioner Dr. Wallner saved a British paratrooper's life. As a token of his gratitude the soldier gave the doctor an old x-ray machine from an abandoned military hospital. Since Wallner had little use for it as a general practitioner, he gave it to his friend, Dr. Karl Rohrbacher.

MAMMOGRAPHY

DiagnoseZentrumUrania uses microdose mammography. This procedure is an innovative is the first diagnostic center in Austria to use this innovative imaging procedure. The radiation dose needed for microdose mammography is up to 60 percent less than that used in conventional

X-ray mammography.
