FAIR Data Training

ELIXIR-NL - DUTCH TECHCENTRE FOR LIFE SCIENCES DTL acts as the Dutch node of ELIXIR, the European data infrastructure for the life sciences. ELIXIR unites Europe’s leading life science organisations in managing and safeguarding the increasing volume of data generated by publicly funded research. ELIXIR is organised in TRAINING - DUTCH TECHCENTRE FOR LIFE SCIENCES ELIXIR-NL is active in three ELIXIR platforms: Compute, Interoperability, and Training. The Farm Data Train project aims to connect agricultural data to make them more usable. It is a joint initiative of DTL, GODAN, CABI, and Wageningen UR. Within the life sciences more and more data is generated and research often requires sharing and combining data. Personalized medicine is a prominent example where data from different disciplines need to be combined to determine the best treatment for an individual. COVID-19 UPDATES & INITIATIVES During the COVID-19 pandemic researchers are working around the clock to make vaccines, advance medical treatment and protocols for the

sick.

We are in an unprecedented situation where the whole world has to deal with this pandemic. In previous weeks we have seen the real strength

of data sharing.

However, there are still lots of hurdles when it comes to successful sharing and understanding of the data which is continuously being

generated.

Therefore members of our network and others are now focusing on the most urgent problems of data handling during this crisis. As DTL’s network has broad expertise in data-savvy life science research we feel the need to assist with these efforts. Read more about this here
