AIRPORT AND OTHER AIRFIELD RESTRICTIONS Airport and other airfield restrictions. The government has introduced a restriction around every protected aerodrome in the UK, which is a 2 (or 2.5) nautical mile radius cylinder and a series of 5Km rectangular zones from the end of each runway threshold- all of which extend up to 2000ft above the surface.REGISTRATION
The UK’s new Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Scheme is now live at Register-drones.caa.co.uk . There are two elements to the online system. Anyone responsible for a drone or unmanned aircraft (including model aircraft)* weighing between 250g and 20kg (or under 250g if it has a camera and isn’t a toy) will need to register as an operator.SAFETY APPS

The CAA partnered with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to make drone users aware of the need to share the air with other airspace users, including emergency service aircraft such as medical helicopters, even when flying under 400ft 120m. Dronesafe retailers. Drone retailers can now sign up to be DroneSafe approved by following a specific set of guidelines when selling drones.
