Often referred to as genetic emphysema, this inherited condition is more deadly than the type caused by smoking. Air and pollutants eat away at a patient's lungs and may result in death bymid-40's.

Donor Compensation. Donating plasma takes time and commitment. To help ensure a safe and adequate supply of plasma, donors are provided with a modest stipend to recognize the substantial commitment of personal time and travel required to be a plasma donor.
