We’ve just seen another spurt of shows – from Celine, Gucci and Bottega Veneta (they had an event in a club in Berlin, while the rest of the city’s in a strict lockdown, and allegedly hired Soho House for the afterparty, kicking out existing residents – not cool!) – while other brands are doing smaller THIS BRAND WANTS TO SEX UP SUNSCREEN Purito was a favourite for a while, famed for its hydrating formula and high coverage until a flaw was discovered in its efficacy and products were recalled. Supergoop! Unseen Suncreen * is a current favourite, alongside La Roche-Posay Anthelios*, Shiseido Expert Sun Protector *, and Black Girl Sunscreen*. But none of them scream ‘holidays
ITALIAN ROMANCE FROM ZANINI AW21 15 March, 2021 Italian romance from Zanini AW21. I’ve never experienced Zanini’s clothes IRL, but you just know they’re the kind of clothes that improve with age. The Zanini AW21 collection illustrates this so well, even when viewed, as I have, through a three-inch Instagram square.. The fabrics are just lush. The slate black double-breasted coat (above) is a linen-and-wool herringbone WISH LIST: MARI GIUDICELLI SS21 Wish list: Mari Giudicelli SS21. One of the best shows I saw for SS21 was Felipe Oliveira Baptista’s Kenzo collection. Inspired by beekeepers and their utilitarian outfits, the show reflected the social distanced ‘Contagion’ times with incredible headgear and hazmat-style all-encasing outfits fashioned from classic Kenzo florals. POSITIVE FASHION: CUT N SEW Positive fashion: Cut n sew. I just stumbled upon Wright Le Chapelain on Instagram, a fashion brand with an early 90s Margiela -esque ethos and aesthetic. The designers source secondhand shirts from the Crisis UK charity and upcycle them into new deconstructed pieces alongside suitings sourced from British heritage mills. ON MY RADAR: MINAS SPIRIDIS On my radar: Minas Spiridis. I just discovered the work of Minas Spiridis, a Greek jewellery and product designer who passed away last year at the age of 82. I love this fluid, sculptural style, including his Cycladi stool, a table mirror, and a magnifying glass on a pendant. But my favourite is the Minas watch he designed for Georg Jensen.

KENZO SS21 BY FILIPE OLIVEIRA BAPTISTA Kenzo SS21 by Filipe Oliveira Baptista. One of the best shows I saw for SS21 was Felipe Oliveira Baptista’s Kenzo collection. Inspired by beekeepers and their utilitarian outfits, the show reflected the social distanced ‘Contagion’ times with incredible headgear and hazmat-style all-encasing outfits fashioned from classic Kenzo florals.

ON MY RADAR: MINAS SPIRIDIS On my radar: Minas Spiridis. I just discovered the work of Minas Spiridis, a Greek jewellery and product designer who passed away last year at the age of 82. I love this fluid, sculptural style, including his Cycladi stool, a table mirror, and a magnifying glass on a pendant. But my favourite is the Minas watch he designed for Georg Jensen.

Like Joseph Szabo’s pictures of teenagers in the 70s/80s and Joseph Sterling’s studies of adolescents in the late 50s, Weinberger’s images of 1960s Swiss biker kids have had a wide reaching influence amongst contemporary photographers, fashion designers, stylists and other creatives.

AT HOME WITH INTERIORS PHOTOGRAPHER FRANÇOIS HALARD Like thousands of others, I enjoyed the daily lockdown Polaroids of interiors photographer, FRANÇOIS HALARD. Sharing vignettes from his 18th century Arles home on INSTAGRAM , they’ve allowed an element of arty escapism from my own four walls during our enforced confinement.
Halard has spent his life photographing the intimate details of artists’ homes, including ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG and CY TWOMBLY, (some of which are included in his brilliant book, Visite Privee ). In his own shabby chic home, documented by VOGUE, it looks like he’s taken inspo from his favourite artists’ abodes, notably the legendary Horst P Horst shots of Twombly’s Italian apartment ,

For once there is no excuse not to do something.
