COVID-19 AND DIPLOMACY COVID-19 has brought the world to its knees. With almost every country and territory reporting cases of the coronavirus, the world is having to adapt to a new kind of normal. Online meetings have long been seen as a poor substitute for face-to-face ones. With the COVID-19 pandemic and the responses from governments around the world, this view ANCIENT DIPLOMACY: WHAT CAN IT TEACH US? COVID-19 IS NOT A BIOWEAPON AND IT IS DANGEROUS TO CLAIM Disease grips humanity’s imagination with a chokehold. It distances people from each other and can create animosities between groups. The fear of disease trumps even war, since you can see guns and tanks. You cannot see the bubonic plague, or Ebola, or COVID-19 with your bare eyes.
