ARBORETUM - DINOSAUR STATE PARK Surrounding the Exhibit Center is the Arboretum which was established to showcase plants that have a direct link to those that existed during the Age of Dinosaurs.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Nature Trails. The trails are open year-round, currently Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather conditions permitting. The grounds are closed on Mondays.

In August 2019, Dinosaur State Park celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the discovery of the tracks with a party featuring a wide range of free activities for visitors of all ages.Thousands of visitors joined in the fun. Attendance for the day broke our records of the event held nearly every year since 1996.

The first was the "bubble building" noteworthy for being 120 degrees in the summer, frigid in the winter, and having the tendency to fall down frequently.

Providing educational opportunities for the community is the primary objective of the Friends of Dinosaur Park and Arboretum, Inc. By supporting the park staff and with the help of volunteers, the FDPA funds programs, events and exhibits that expand knowledge and understanding of the natural history revealed at Dinosaur State Park. Special Programs at Dinosaur State Park. Throughout 2016, Dinosaur State Park will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of dinosaur tracks in Rocky Hill. DINOSAUR STATE PARK DAY DSP Day 2015. It was a bright and sunny day for our celebration of the discovery of the tracks at Dinosaur State Park. Thousands of visitors joined in the fun. Once again, there were free activities for visitors of all ages: games, crafts, educational programs and prizes. Children, parents, and grandchildren were encouraged to join in the fun FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS Special Programs and Events were given throughout the year. Throughout 2016, Dinosaur State Park celebrated the 50th anniversary of the discovery of dinosaur tracks in Rocky Hill.
