"Ding" Darling Foundation, a refuge was created on Sanibel Island from land donated by concerned citizens and acquired by the federal government. Administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Sanibel National Wildlife Refuge has protected habitat for wildlife since1945.

"DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY Last month, Joy Robertson joined “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society staff as business office manager to oversee financial operational systems and processes and policies in support of the DDWS mission. She fills the position vacated by Joann Hinman, who is retiring after five years of service. In July 2020, Joy moved to the Fort Myers area from "DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY Celebrating the Refuge’s 75th Anniversary. In 1945, out of fear for the wildlife and wetlands that claimed most of Sanibel Island, Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling succeeded in petitioning for the creation of the Sanibel National Wildlife Refuge. Seventy-five years later, J.N. “Ding” Darling NWR, which adopted its creator’s name in 1967 following his death, celebrates its rich history "DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society Scholarship Fund. c/o Wendy Kindig, Education Committee Chair. "Ding" Darling Foundation, a refuge was created on Sanibel Island from land donated by concerned citizens and acquired by the federal government. Administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Sanibel National Wildlife Refuge has protected habitat for wildlife since1945.

"DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY Last month, Joy Robertson joined “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society staff as business office manager to oversee financial operational systems and processes and policies in support of the DDWS mission. She fills the position vacated by Joann Hinman, who is retiring after five years of service. In July 2020, Joy moved to the Fort Myers area from "DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY Celebrating the Refuge’s 75th Anniversary. In 1945, out of fear for the wildlife and wetlands that claimed most of Sanibel Island, Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling succeeded in petitioning for the creation of the Sanibel National Wildlife Refuge. Seventy-five years later, J.N. “Ding” Darling NWR, which adopted its creator’s name in 1967 following his death, celebrates its rich history "DING" DARLING WILDLIFE SOCIETY J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society Scholarship Fund. c/o Wendy Kindig, Education Committee Chair.
