HISTAMINE INTOLERANCE: UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE DAO requires vitamin B6, vitamin C, copper, and zinc in order to function properly, so if you are deficient in any of these, you may experience histamine intolerance. The study itself was published in the British Journal of Pharmacology and is entitled DO WE NEED FRUIT ANTIOXIDANTS? Capers, cranberries, black currants, apples, grapes, blueberries, and apricots are the fruits that contain the most quercetin. Of all the polyphenols, quercetin is the easiest to absorb; about 20% of what you eat will make it into your bloodstream, but it only lasts a few hours. HOW DEADLY ARE NIGHTSHADES? WHAT ARE REFINED CARBS? What are refined grains? Truly whole grains are intact kernels (seeds) complete with their outer bran coating just as it is found in nature. Once the grain is broken into pieces by any kind of processing, it has been refined to some extent. DO WE NEED FRUIT ANTIOXIDANTS? Capers, cranberries, black currants, apples, grapes, blueberries, and apricots are the fruits that contain the most quercetin. Of all the polyphenols, quercetin is the easiest to absorb; about 20% of what you eat will make it into your bloodstream, but it only lasts a few hours. FRESHNESS COUNTS: HISTAMINE INTOLERANCE Anybody can have histamine intolerance, but you are at higher risk if you eat a GAPS diet or a low-carb diet, enjoy gourmet foods, or have been swept up in the current fermented foods fad. That's because histamine is found lurking primarily in aged, fermented, cured, cultured, and smoked foods. HOW TO DIAGNOSE, PREVENT AND TREAT INSULIN RESISTANCE There is no simple direct test for insulin resistance on the market, so most health care providers use a combination of tests along with other information about you to determine how insulin resistant you are. Some of the most useful tests are listed below: Fasting insulin. Fasting blood glucose. DO HIGH-FAT DIETS CAUSE DEPRESSION? Fat-phobia strikes again. The study itself was published in the British Journal of Pharmacology and is entitled WHAT ARE REFINED CARBS? What are refined grains? Truly whole grains are intact kernels (seeds) complete with their outer bran coating just as it is found in nature. Once the grain is broken into pieces by any kind of processing, it has been refined to some extent. HOW DEADLY ARE NIGHTSHADES? The median lethal dose (LD50) in rodents is 1.75 mg/kg. This means that it would take at least 13 pounds of eggplant to kill a 150 lb

monster mouse. .
