BOOK REVIEW: THE GIALLO CANVAS Genre cinema doyenne Alexandra Heller-Nicholas has written a fascinating and insightful book, on a set of fabulously garish and violent films made during the post-WW2 golden age of the Italian film industry. A LOOK BACK AT NAKED VENGEANCE The rape-revenge genre has long been one of the more prolific in exploitation cinema, yet out of the entire cannon, you'd be hard-pressed to find one more brutal, more unforgiving than Cirio H. The film begins idyllically, as Carla A WORLD OF WICKER, PART 1: THE LIFE AND MYTH OF EMMANUELLE Marayat Rollet-Andriane to be even more precise.
