GESAMTPAKET VON 90 MILLIONEN EUROKÜNSTLICHE INTELLIGENZ: DFG BESCHLIESST STRATEGISCHE FÖRDERINITIATIVE (07.10.19) Mit einer neuen strategischen Förderinitiative zur Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) will die DFG in den kommenden Jahren in verschiedenen Programmen Projekte aus allen Bereichen der KI-Forschung fördern. Im Rahmen der Initiative sollen bis zu acht Forschungsgruppen und bis zu 30 Nachwuchsgruppen ausgeschrieben und gefördert werden. 1659 KANDIDIERENDE FÜR 632 PLÄTZEAUFTAKT DER DFG-FACHKOLLEGIENWAHL (21.10.19) Von Montag, den 21. Oktober, 14 Uhr, bis zum Montag, den 18. November, ebenfalls 14 Uhr, können rund 150 000 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler in Deutschland online ihre Vertreterinnen und Vertreter für die Fachkollegien der DFG wählen, die eine zentrale Rolle im System der wissenschaftlichen Selbstorganisation und bei der Beurteilung von Förderanträgen spielen. Für die Amtsperiode von 2020 bis 2023 werden 49 Fachkollegien gewählt, in denen 211 Fächer repräsentiert sind. (08.10.19) Die DFG-Senatskommission für Grundsatzfragen in der Klinischen Forschung hat Empfehlungen erarbeitet, die dazu beitragen sollen, die translationale Forschung in der Universitätsmedizin zu stärken. Sie werden am 8. Oktober 2019 im Rahmen eines gemeinsam mit dem BIH Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) veranstalteten Symposiums der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.
