We have successfully dug out all the invasive monkey grass and taken down the warped window boxes. Next up, take down the window box brackets. Give the shutters a fresh coat of paint. Hang some lace curtains inside the shed windows. UPDATE: You can see the progress of the garden HERE. WHITEWASH, LIMEWASH, OR GERMAN SCHMEAR German Schmear (also sometimes listed as mortar wash or German smear) is a technique in which white or cream color mortar is schmeared/smeared over brick. Some of the mortar is removed while it’s still wet. It generally does not fully cover the original brick. The finished look results in a lovely old-world Europeanfinish.

Spring Dining Room. This year’s spring home tour dining table decor is doing double duty as my St. Patrick’s Day tablescape. Natural-looking elements such as the burlap cloth were mixed with rustic antique confit pots. Bright green goblets sparkle in the sunshine. TUTORIAL CREATING A PAINTED FLOORCLOTH The use of blue chalk lines really helped in keeping the pattern straight. The angle of the XL 2.5″ Purdy paintbrush worked well in creating the sharp diamond points. I selected Pratt and Lambert Appaloosa 33~28 as the base and Silver Mink 33~25 for the darker squares. It required just one coat. I let it dry for over a day andthen applied

After weeks of wondering just what type of furniture I wanted to put in the sunroom, the thought occurred to me to have A Daybed A QUICK AND EASY CEILING FAN UPDATE A ceiling fan might be a necessity if it’s really hot and humid. But the yellow light shades (also known as glass globes) had to go! “BEFORE”. After visiting a few big box hardware stores I found that the average replacement globe was $8 each. Times that by 4 and that was way more than I wanted to spend on a fan I might eventuallytake down.

There was an area in our backyard that was a real eyesore. Mr. Décor changed all that. It was right off of the patio which made relaxing and enjoying our outdoor space a bit difficult. BASKET AND CRATE DECOR IDEAS The crates were most recently showcased at Sweet Guy’s Eagle Scout Party. They worked beautifully within the rustic decor we were seeking. The crates also helped to keep the buffet area organized. One thing is certain, you can expect more basket and crate decor to adore in the future.
