PRINCETON PROFESSORS LEAD NEW ALLIANCE FOR FREE SPEECH The Academic Freedom Alliance (AFA), a nonprofit organization “dedicated to upholding the principle of free speech in academia,” was launched on Mar. 8. Several Princeton faculty members are in its ranks of membership and leadership. At the helm of the organization as Academic Committee Chair is Keith E. Whittington, a politics professor and author of the Class of 2022 pre-read “Speak STATEMENT FROM AASA CONDEMNING RECENT ATTACKS ON ASIAN In our April 2020 article, we described a massive increase in the number of racist attacks against Asian Americans in the United States. Stop AAPI Hate reported over 1,100 racist attacks from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to the spring of 2020. He was studying remotely from Troy this spring. On April 24, rowing became the first sport to compete since campus closed last March. Now, the teams have their eyes set on competing in the national championship. WHAT LOCAL REPARATIONS PROGRAMS MUST CONSIDER One local institution sets an example: the Princeton Theological Seminary set aside $27 million in 2019 to start scholarship funds and more after reckoning with their ties to slavery. Going forward, the University should consider exploring possibilities involving reparations for its ties to slavery and racism over the last fewcenturies.

Danielle Dockx ’18 knew she wanted to go into medicine and that she wanted to work in the sports industry. However, she was told that she could only put her two passions together if she put medicine first and sports second. This wasn’t an option for Dockx.
