NGC 7640 IN ANDROMEDA ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY MARTIN RUSTERHOLZ NGC 7640 is a mag 11.5 bright SBc-type galaxy in the constellation of Andromeda with an apparent size of 10’x2.2′. The shape of the spiral arms clearly shows the classification of SB, but it appers to have undergone gravitational interaction in the past. CXIELO Observatory is a remote-observatory located in Southern France and is a member of ROSA (Remote Observatories Southern Alps), founded 2008 by Daniel Marquardt and Karel Teuwen. It is a rolloff-roof observatory hosting an RCOS 14.5" scope carried by an ASA DDM85 mount. The image-train consists of an RCOS PIR (precision instrument rotator) and an Apogee U16M CCD camera, using Astrodon Gen2 LRGB and Ha (5nm), OIII (3nm) and SII (5nm) filters. An Astrodon MonsterMOAG with Starlight Xpress Lodestar enables guiding in front of the filters. To allow widefield imaging, an FSQ-106EDX III sits on top of the RCOS. An Apogee CG16M CCD camera attached to this refractor results in a 3.5x 3.5 degree field.
