LEARNING ARCHITECTURE At TU Eindhoven, students have been developing a renewed understanding of architecture. By curating and realizing architectural exhibitions with the Curatorial Research Collective, students not only investigate alternative modes of architecture scholarship, but also develop a better understanding of the power of architectural ideas and how these can be communicated to a broader audience.WHATEVER HAPPENED
Since history, theory and criticism were identified as key components to the Eindhoven’s School particular approach to architecture, on the occasion of the exhibition The Eindhoven School: a forgotten avant-garde being presented in Rotterdam, a symposium was organized at the Het Nieuwe Instituut to discuss the current role, position, and state of architecture history and theory in Dutch DOCTORAL PROGRAM: ARCHITECTURE CURATION AND CULTURE The Curatorial Research Collective (CRC) Doctoral Program develops advanced research investigating architecture curation and architectureculture.

In 1923, Le Corbusier published what would become the most influential book on architecture in the 20th century. Vers Une Architecture compiled sixteen essays on architecture which, when combined, indicated that a new architecture—one more attuned to the early 20th century modern condition—was already emerging in the functional work of industrial designers and structural engineers.FRAMING HEERLEN
How can one look differently to the scenery of our everyday life? This was the prompt for an installation organized in collaboration with Breg Horemans and Schunck* for the Dutch Day of Architecture 2018 in Heerlen (as well as Jim Stephenson, who documented the entireprocess).
WHAT FUTURE
the apparatus of architecture culture is ever evolving Although often overlooked, the architecture museum has arguably become one of the most significant instruments in architecture’s disciplinaryapparatus.
EINDHOVEN EIGHT: NEW DUTCH ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM The exhibition Eindhoven Eight presented an investigation into Eindhoven’s contemporary architectural culture by surveying the work of eight architectural offices. The work of Open Architecture Office (OAO), Werkstatt, UArchitects, Atelier to the Bone (ATTB), Houben/Van Mierlo, Wenink Holtkamp, 12N/Fulco Treffers and Atelier Een provided a glimpse into a new type of architectural production ABOUT MEUWISSEN / BEKAERT'S LEGACY The presentation of the exhibition The Eindhoven School: a forgotten avant-garde in Delft focused on educational and pedagogical issues. As such, the opening of the exhibition was celebrated with two lectures on the influence (perceived and real) on Dutch architecture culture of two of the original exhibition curator’s and TU/e’s Chair of Architecture History and Theory faculty: Geert CURATORIAL RESEARCH COLLECTIVE we research architecture exhibitions, and make them too RESEARCH — CURATORIAL RESEARCH COLLECTIVE Research.
