CONNECTICUT NEWSPAPERS Connecticut Newspaper Project – From October 1991 to July 2002, the Connecticut Newspaper Project (CNP) worked to locate, catalog and inventory all American newspapers held in libraries, historical societies and other repositories in the state, and to preserve and increase access to newspapers by microfilming as many of their state newspapers as possible.CHURCH RECORDS
The Church Records index covers about one-quarter of the church records held by the Connecticut State Library, mostly Congregational. There is no specific cutoff date for the index; most entries date before 1850, but there are some to the early 1900s. DATABASES – CONNECTICUT STATE LIBRARY Databases. An alphabetical listing of research databases with legal, biographical, genealogical, government, and general information, including indexes, journals, and online newspapers available on-site at the Connecticut State Library. LOCATING CONNECTICUT LEGISLATIVE HISTORY Locating Connecticut Legislative History. All legislative history material in the State Library’s collection can be legally cited and certified. Full text copies of compiled legislative histories can be obtained in the following ways: *Search our compiled histories by act number* (In addition to previously ordered histories, full-text is MUNICIPAL RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Municipal Records Management Program. HISTORIC DOCUMENTS PRESERVATION PROGRAM Historic Documents Preservation Program. Contact: Kathy Makover, 860-566-1100, ext. 303. The Historic Documents Preservation Program supports municipalities in improving the preservation and management of local government records. Targeted grants are available to all municipalities as further described in the Guidelines below. CIVIL WAR - MILITARY RECORDS - LIBGUIDES HOME AT Published service records were created for Connecticut men in the Civil War. This work and another have been digitized and are linked below.
