Do like this: Heat the glue gun and apply a string of glue along the bottom and middle of the first paper bag, as illustrated by the red dotted line in picture no 1. Place the next bag on top of the first one and make sure that the bags are in the same direction and aligned. Glue this bag the same way as the first one and continue with the following bags until you glued all of the eight bags 10 JULKORT / 10 CHRISTMAS CARDS Till samtliga kort använde jag dubbla kort i A6-format, 220 g samt små “God Jul-skyltar” som jag gjorde i datorn och skrev ut på 220 g vit kartong och sedan klippte ut.

PENNSTÄLL I PASTELL Här kommer ett tips på ett otroligt enkelt och snabbt pyssel. Dekorera färdiga pennställ i papp med mönstrad washitejp! Pysslet passar även för barn och kan t ex vara en rolig aktivitet på ett barnkalas med pysseltema. FEBRUARY | 2016 | CRAFT & CREATIVITY Husformade hyllor ser man just nu lite överallt i inredningstidningar, på mässor och i butiker. Istället för att köpa färdigmålade kan det vara roligare att göra dem precis som man vill ha dem. Måla hela hyllan, bara utsidan, insidan eller endast bakstycket som vi gjorde med våra hyllor. De inspirerade mig att göra min egen variant. Vill ni ha tips på hur man kan måla träkulor i fina mönster rekommenderar jag en sökning på Pinterest. Ibland kan det vara bra att ha en skylt att hänga på dörren när man som lillasyster gillar att ha lite sovmorgon ibland. Eftersom skyltarna är ganska höga (16×35 pärlor) använde vi pärlplattor som kan byggas ihop. Vi strök pärlplattorna som vanligt med ett strykjärn på högsta värme (ingen ånga) och bakplåtspapper

You will need: 1.5 kg of concrete, a paper mache letter, some vegetable oil, a plastic bowl or bucket, a spoon, a meauring cup, a brush and a sharp hobby knife. Use plastic gloves when working with concrete (we didn’t but it’s better to use gloves). Optional:

ARMBAND AV SMÄLTA PÄRLOR Under mitt letande efter en beskrivning hur man väver de armband av plastpärlor som jag skrev om härom dagen så snubblade jag över det här roliga tipset hos Tedags hos Tant Ninette.Sätt ugnen på 200°C. Ställ upp ett antal plastpärlor (så kallade hama-pärlor / nabbipärlor, pärlplattepärlor / strykpärlor) på en plåt med

bakplåtspapper.

I found that the easiest way was to wrap a piece of wire around the top of the cone, to have something to hold on to when I dipped them. I poured paint in an old yogurt container, dipped the cones partly or completely, and hung them to dry on a wire underneath a shelf in my kitchen. Se till att täcka golvet under kottarna. DAG 6: ADVENTSSTJÄRNOR AV PAPPERSPÅSAR – _DAY 6: PAPER BAG CHRISTMAS STARS_ Posted on 2016/12/06 by Helena, Craft and Creativity

Tro det eller ej men dessa adventsstjärnor är tillverkade av papperspåsar. Du kan själv göra likadana och det är enklare än du tror! Med en ljusslinga inuti så lyser de upp fint i vintermörkret. Detta är mitt bidrag till årets kreativa kalender tillsammans med The Creative Collective Sweden. Igår visade Lina (Lina by the Bay

) hur hon

gjorde sin fina granformade lampa och imorgon är det Helena N:s (Mormorsglamour ) tur att ta över stafettpinnen i vår julkalender.

_Believe it or not but these advent stars are made out of paper bags. You can make them yourself and it’s easier than you might think! A string of lights inside the paper stars will brighten up those dark winter evenings. This is my contribution to this year’s creative calendar together with The Creative Collective Sweden. Yesterday Lina

(Lina by the Bay

) showed us how

to make a beautiful and unique Christmas lamp and tomorrow it’s Helena N’s (Mormorsglamour ) turn to share something creative for day 7 of our Christmas calendar. _ TILL EN PAPPERSTJÄRNA BEHÖVER DU: 8 st papperspåsar, en limpistol, en sax, en blyertspenna, ett vitt band (t ex bomull eller satin) plus en tunn ljusslinga med små dioder och batterier förstås. Mina papperspåsar är 9 cm breda och 6,5 cm djupa med klossbotten. Höjden spelar ingen roll eftersom du ändå ska klippa ner dem.

_FOR ONE PAPER STAR YOU WILL NEED: 8 paper bags, a glue gun, a pair of scissors, a pencil, a white ribbon, a thin string of lights and batteries of course. My paper bags are 9 cm wide and 6.5 cm deep and has a block bottom. The height doesn’t matter since you will trim

the bags._

* GÖR SÅ HÄR: Värm limpistolen och placera en limsträng längst botten och mitten av den första påsen, som illustrerat med den röda prickade linjen ovan i bild nr 1. Lägg nästa påse ovanpå den första, se till så att påsarna ligger åt samma håll och i linje med varandra. Limma denna påse på samma sätt och fortsätt med övriga påsar tills du limmat ihop samliga åtta påsar. * Skissa med en blyertspenna på översta påsen för att skapa just din design. Klipp sedan genom alla påsarna för att forma spetsen och hålen på sidorna. Experimentera gärna med olika former och storlekar på jacken. * Om du vill kan du använda en håltång och göra små hål i sidorna. Stansa i så fall ut halvmånar vilka kommer att bilda runda hål när stjärnan vecklas ut. * Limma fast en vitt band längst mitten av ovansidan och undersidan av traven med papperspåsar. Dessa är till för att knyta ihop och hänga upp stjärnan när du är klar. Tag en spetsig sax eller syl och gör ett hål rakt igenom mitten av den ihopfällda stjärnan, som jag visar på bild nr 4 ovan. * Veckla ut stjärnan och trä ljusslingan genom hålet och alla lager av papperspåsar. Fördela ljusdioderna jämnt genom hela

stjärnan.

* Fäll ihop stjärnan och limma längst båda sidorna av botten som illustrerat av den röda prickade linjen på bild nr 6, fäll upp stjärnan igen så att bottenpåsen möter toppenpåsen och stjärnan

limmas ihop.

* I det lilla facket som bildas högst upp på stjärnan kan du gömma ljusslingans batteridel. Knyt ihop stjärnan med båda ändar av snöret och häng upp den. ------------------------- * _DO LIKE THIS: Heat the glue gun and apply a string of glue along the bottom and middle of the first paper bag, as illustrated by the red dotted line in picture no 1. Place the next bag on top of the first one and make sure that the bags are in the same direction and aligned. Glue this bag the same way as the first one and continue with the following bags until you glued all of the eight bags together. _ * _Use a pencil and make a sketch on the top bag to create your own unique design. Then cut through all layers of bags to form the tip and holes on the sides. Feel free to experiment with different shapes and

sizes of holes. _

* _If you want you can use a hole punch to make small holes to the sides. Punch semicircles, they will form round holes once the star is

unfolded. _

* _Glue a white ribbon to the middle line of the top and bottom of the stack. The ribbons are there to hang your star when your done. Use a sharp scissor or awl to make a hole right through the middle of the star, as illustrated in picture no 4._ * _Unfold the star and thread the string of lights through the hole and all layers of the paper bags. Distrubute the LEDs evenly throughout the star. _ * _Fold the star again and glue at both sides of the base as illustrated by the red dotted line in picture no 6. Unfold the star and glue the back to the front of the stack._ * _Hide the batteri section in the small compartment now formed at the top of the star. Tie the two ribbons together and you are ready to

hang your star. _

Hobbyfilt är ett roligt material att jobba med eftersom den är enkel att klippa i och repar inte upp sig. Här har jag gjort snötäckta granar med pappstrutar som bas. Läs vidare för min steg-för-steg

beskrivning.

_Craft felt is a fun material to work with because it’s easy to cut and it doesn’t fray. Here I’ve made three snow-covered fir trees with papier maché cones as base. Continue reading for my full

tutorial. _

* DU BEHÖVER: Hobbyfilt i olika nyanser, en sax, en limpistol och pappstrutar. Jag använde hobbyfilt i en mixad förpackning med julfärger där både vitt, grått, beige och svart ingick. * GÖR SÅ HÄR: Klipp till en remsa filt som ska täcka botten av julgranen och en bit som ska täcka toppen. * Värm din limpistol och limma remsan längst foten av granen och den andra biten runt toppen. * Klipp till en rund bit hobbyfilt och använd den som mall för att klippa till resten av cirklarna. Till mina granar som är 11 cm höga använde jag ca 50 st cirklar och de är 2 cm i diameter. * Limma fast cirklarna på pappstruten. Låt dem överlappa lite och gör ett varv i taget. Börja längst ner och jobba dig uppåt, mot

toppen.

* Jag avslutade med att klippa till små stjärnor av filt och limmade dem på toppen av julgranarna. ------------------------- * _YOU WILL NEED: Craft felt in different colors, a pair of scissors, a glue gun and papier maché cones. _ * _DO LIKE THIS: Cut a strip of craft felt to cover the foot of the Christmas tree and a piece to cover the top._ * _Preheat your glue gun and glue the felt strip around the foot of the tree and the other piece of felt around the top. _ * _Cut a round piece of craft felt and use it as a template to cut the rest of the circles. For my 11 cm high fir trees I used about 50 circles and they are 2 cm in diameter. _ * _Glue the circles to the papier maché cone. Let them overlap a little bit and do one row at a time. Start at the bottom and work your way to the top. _ * _I finished off by cutting out small felt stars and glued them to the top of the Christmas trees. _ Du kan göra en annan variant genom att, istället för cirklar, klippa taggiga remsor av hobbyfilten och limma dem på pappstruten, ett varv i taget. Även här bör du börja längst ner och avsluta

vid toppen.

_You can very the look of the tree by cutting jagged stripes of the craft felt instead of circles and glue them to the papier maché cones, one row at a time. Again, you should start at the bottom and work your way up.

Så här ser granarna ut när de är klara. / _And this is what the trees look like when they are done. _ Och som vanligt hade jag en liten medhjälpare när jag skulle fota det färdiga resultatet. Freddie tycker förstås att granarna passar mycket bättre som kattleksaker än som julpynt.

_And as usual I hade a little assisistant when taking photos of the finished result. Freddie thinks that the trees are much better suited as cat toys rather then Christmas decorations.

INSPIRATION FÖR JULKLAPPSINSLAGNING – _CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAP INSPIRATION_ Posted on 2016/11/25 by Helena, Craft and Creativity

Det här är ett SPONSRAT INLÄGG, skapat i samarbete med 3M. Jag har blivit utmanad av dem att göra en annorlunda julklappsinslagning. Eftersom jag älskar att slå in fina och unika presenter hakade jag på utmaningen och bestämde mig för att pärla julklappsetiketter och tejpa fast mitt pärlade pynt på några av årets julklappar.

_This is a SPONSORED POST, created in cooperation with 3M__. I was challenged by them to make a unique and fun Christmas gift wrapping. Since I love to come up with pretty gift wrappings I was happy to take the challenge. I decided to make gift tags out of ironing beads and tape them to some of this year’s Christmas gifts. _ Om du känner dig inspirerad och vill göra paket liknande mina så börjar du med att pärla de olika motiven. Hitta på egna eller använd dig av mina mönster ovan. Jag höll mig till färgerna rött och vitt. Förutom rörpärlor så behöver du pärlplattor i olika former. När du pärlat dina motiv så stryker du dem med ett vanligt strykjärn på hög värme. Lägg ett bakplåtspapper mellan pärlplattorna och strykjärnet och kom ihåg att stänga av ångan om du har ett ångstrykjärn. Stryk tills pärlorna smält samman. Små barn kan behöva hjälp med detta moment. Lossa motiven från pärlplattan och låt svalna.

_If you feel inspired and want to try my Christmas gift wrap idea you start by creating different designs on your pegboards. Make the designs yourself or feel free to use mine. I stuck to the colors red and white. Besides Perler/Hama/Nabbi beads you will need pegboards in different shapes. When you’re done beading it’s time to melt your designs. Heat the iron to a medium to high level. Turn off the steam function. Place a sheet of parchment paper on top of the peg board and iron until the beads have fused together. Small children might need help with this. Let the beads cool off and remove the design from the

peg board._

Till presentinslagningen behöver du presentpapper, en sax, vitt bomullsgarn och tejp. Jag använde Scotch dubbelhäftande tejp för att fästa våra pärlade figurer på paketen och och Scotch Magic tejp när jag slog in paketen. Den magiska tejpen ser frostig ut på rullen men blir så gott som osynlig på presentpappret. För mer info om de olika tejpsorterna besök Scotchs hemsida

_For the actual gift wrapping you will need gift wrapping paper, a pair of scissors, white cotton yarn and tape. I used Scotch double sided tape to make the beaded decorations stick to the gifts and Scotch Magic tape for the gift wrapping. The magic tape is frosty on the roll yet virtually invisible on the wrapping paper. You can read more about the different tapes here

Ni som följt mig ett tag vet att jag gillar att använda dubbelhäftande tejp när jag pysslar och den här varianten var ovanligt praktisk eftersom den kommer på en hållare och tejpen går att riva av utan att jag behöver använda en sax.

_Those of you who have read my blog for a while know that I love to use double sided tape when crafting and this one is really good. The tape comes in a dispenser which makes it easy to tear without having

to use scissors. _

Dessa enkla julgranar av filt och knappar blir hur söta som helst att hänga i granen. Du behöver inte vara någon van pysslare för att klara detta projekt och det är ett kul julpyssel att göra tillsammans med lite större barn. Det roliga är också att du kan variera storleken på granarna fritt och blanda vilka färger du

önskar.

_These simple felt and button Christmas trees are so cute as Christmas decorations. You don’t need to be an experienced crafter to to pull this project off and it’s a fun craft to do together with older children. Another great thing is that you can vary the size and mix the colors in any way you like. _ DU BEHÖVER: Hobbyfilt i olika färger, en sax, knappar, sytråd och

nål.

_YOU WILL NEED: Craft felt in different colors, a pair of scissors, buttons, sewing thread and a needle. _ * GÖR SÅ HÄR: Klipp till ett gäng kvadrater av hobbyfilt. Du behöver inte vara så noga med att det blir räta linjer, resultatet blir fint ändå. Till våra granar som är ca 7 cm höga så använde vi ca 25 bitar av filt som mellan 1×1 cm och 4×4 cm stora. * Stapla alla kvadrater ovanpå varandra och vrid dem ett kvarts varv för varje lager. Trä nålen och stick nålen genom alla lager filt, från mitten av toppen till botten. * Tag 4-5 knappar av ungefär lika storlek och trä dem på nålen. * Fäst knapparna genom att trä nålen tillbaka genom motsatt hål på knapparna och in genom mitten av granen igen, hela vägen upp till

toppen.

* Fäst en knapp på toppen och knyt. Nu är du klar med din första

gran!

* _DO LIKE THIS: Cut a bunch of squares out of craft felt. The lines don’t have to be straight, the result will look great anyway. For our 7 cm high Christmas trees we used 25 squares of felt ranging from 1×1 cm to 4×4 cm. _ * _Stack all the squares on top of each other and turn them a quarter turn for each layer. Thread the needle and stick it through all layers of felt, from the middle of the top to the bottom. _ * _Thread 4-5 buttons on the needle. _ * _To secure the buttons, thread the needle back through the buttons and through the middle of the tree again, all the way to the top. _ * _Add a button on the top and tie a knot. Now you’re done making

your first tree! _

Min kreativa kollega Annika och hennes son har pysslat ihop dessa ljuvliga garngranar och dessutom gjort en rolig variant på julklappsinslagning. Hur sött som helst, tycker jag!

_My creative colleague Annika and her son made these adorable pom pom Christmas trees, and then used them for wrapping Christmas gifts. I think they look super cute! _ DU BEHÖVER: Presentpapper, en Chalk marker (eller annan täckande vit tusch, t ex Uni Posca), en pom pom maker, tjockt ullgarn, trähjul, en bit bomullssnöre eller liknande, en kvist från naturen

och en sax

. Med en

pom pom maker går det snabbt och enkelt att göra många garnbollar.

_YOU WILL NEED: Gift wrapping paper, a Chalk Marker (or another opaque white marker like Uni Posca), a pom pom maker, chunky wool yarn, wooden wheels, a piece of cotton string, a twig from the garden and a pair of scissors. With a pom pom maker you can make a load of pompoms in almost no time at all. _ * GÖR SÅ HÄR: Öppna pom pom makern och lägg ihop de två skivorna. Linda garn runt båda halvcirklarna tills att hålet i mitten är helt täckt. * Stäng pom pom makern och lås. * Klipp upp garnet mellan de två skivorna hela vägen runt. * Använd en bomullstråd eller liknande och knyt hårt runt mitten av garnbollen. Öppna låset och tag bort skivorna. * Trimma garnbollen till en kon med en skarp sax. Trådändarna ska löpa ut på sidan av garnbollen, som på bilden ovan. Klipp av ändarna när du klippt klart. * Vässa gärna träpinnen något i båda ändar innan du för in den ena änden i trähjulet och den andra änden i garnbollen (genom

mittenhålet).

* Slå in din julklapp och rita en bil. Placera granen ovanpå paketet och slå ett snöre runt. ------------------------- * _DO LIKE THIS: Open the pom pom maker and put the two discs together. Wrap the yarn around the two half circles until the hole in the middle is completely covered. _ * _Close the pom pom maker and lock it. _ * _Cut the yarn between the to discs all way around. _ * _With a cotton string tie firmly around the middle of the pompom. Open the lock and remove the discs. _ * _Trim the yarn ball into cone shaped form using a sharp pair of scissors. The ends of the cotton string should run on the side of the yarn ball, as illustrated above. Cut the ends when your done

trimming. _

* _Sharpen the ends of the twig and insert one end in the wooden wheel and one end through the center hole of the yarn ball. _ * _Wrap your Christmas gifts and draw the outlines of a car. Place the tree on top and turn a string around. _ Vill du få extra juliga granar så kan du dekorera dem med små pompom-bollar. De fäster vid granen utan lim men för extra hållbarhet kan du limma om du vill.

_If you want the trees to look even more Christmassy you can decorate them with small craft pompoms. They stick to the tree without glue but for extra durability you can use glue if you like. _ I bakgrunden syns mina pappershus från ett blogginlägg ett par jular tillbaka. Mallarna finns fortfarande att ladda ner gratis för privat bruk för den som önskar.

for those who wish (only for private use). _ Folkabussen köpte jag på TGR (som tydligen snart byter namn till Flying Tiger Copenhagen) för ett par veckor sedan. Den var för söt för att motstå. Mina döttrar förstod verkligen inte varför eftersom de “inte leker med bilar längre”…

_I bought this VW bus at Flying Tiger Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. It was to cute to resist. My two daughters couldn’t understand why, since they “don’t play with cars any longer”… _ Annikas son har målat denna bedårande bil som är en polisbil (ni ser väl sirenen på taket?). Det svarta är motorn så klart.

GÖR EN TE-ADVENTSKALENDER – _MAKE A TEA ADVENT CALENDAR_ Posted on 2016/11/11

Det är inte bara barnen som uppskattar en adventskalender till jul. Du kanske har en vän, släkting eller äkta hälft som gillar te och då kan en hemmagjord adventskalender fylld med 24 olika tepåsar verkligen göra succé. Julkalendern är dessutom otrolig enkel att göra! Vi valde ekologiska teer till vår kalender. Ett tips är att många temärken går att köpa i mixade förpackningar, t ex Markatta

och YogiTea.

_It’s not only children who enjoy an advent calendar for Christmas. You may have a friend, a relative or a spouse who likes tea and I’m sure they would love a homemade Christmas calendar filled with 24 different tea bags. Plus this calendar is so easy to make! We chose organic teas for our calendar. Many tea brands are sold in mixed packs which is great for this purpose._ DU BEHÖVER: 24 st tepåsar, kuvert eller små påsar att lägga tepåsarna i (vi valde kuvert av kvistkvalitet som är 7,8×11,5 cm), stickers med siffrorna 1-24 och en bit snöre och klädnypor om du vill att mottagaren ska kunna hänga upp påsarna.

Den här varianten fick guld- och silverfärgade stickers och vi hängde kalendern på en ljusslinga istället för på ett snöre.

Glittriga dinosaurier kan vara ett roligt och kitschigt alternativ till traditionellt julgranspynt. Jag tycker att det är kul att gå lite “wild and crazy” och dekorera granen med något helt oväntat men ändå juligt på sitt sätt. Garanterat populärt bland barnen

dessutom!

_Glittery dinosaurs can be a fun and kitschy alternative to traditional Christmas ornaments. I think it’s fun to go a bit wild and crazy and decorate the Christmas tree with something totally unexpected but still kind of christmassy. Plus the kid’s will love

it!_

DU BEHÖVER: Plastdinosaurier, en pensel, fiskelina/nylontråd, decoupagelack, hobbyfärg och glitter.

_YOU WILL NEED: Plastic dinosaurs, a paint brush, nylon thread, decoupage lacquer, hobby paint and glitter._ GÖR SÅ HÄR: Måla dinosaurierna i olika starka färger, vi tonade färgerna med mörkast färg på ryggen och ljusare på benen. Låt torka och pensla ett lager decoupagelack på ryggarna och en bit ner på sidorna. Pudra glitter över dinosaurierna och låt lacken torka. När man hanterar glitter kan man med fördel gå utomhus så man slipper få glitter över hela huset. Lägg ett tidningspapper under medan du strör över glittret så är det lätt att samla ihop glittret när du är klar. Knyt en bit fiskelina/nylontråd runt dinosaurierna och häng dem i granen. Vill man låta barnen leka med dinosaurierna så kan det vara en idé att spraylacka dem för att inte färgen ska skavas av och för att glittret ska sitta bättre.

_DO LIKE THIS: Paint the dinosaurs in different bright colors, let dry and add a layer of decoupage lacquer to the backs and a bit down the sides. Sprinkle glitter over the dinosaurs and let the lacquer dry. When handling glitter it can be a good idea to go outside, this way you avoid to get glitter all around the house. Put an old newspaper under while you sprinkle the glitter to make it easier to collect the glitter when your done. Härom dagen visade jag en variant av adventskalender med påsar som förvandlas till renar

.

Här kommer en till hemmapysslad paketkander och denna består av små naturfärgade pappersaskar med lock som jag dekorerat i färgerna rött och vitt. De kan fyllas med allt från en chokladbit till en liten slant eller om mottagaren gillar att pyssla så kan du fylla askarna med pärlor, paljetter, washitejp, rhinstenar och andra

dekorationer.

Here is another alternative and this time I used small kraft paper boxes that I decorated in red and white. The boxes can be filled with anything from a piece of chocolate to a coin. Or if the recipient likes to craft you can fill the boxes with pearls, sequins, washi tape, rhinestones or other craft supplies._ Utseendet på askarna går att variera i det oändliga så låt fantasin flöda! Jag använde mig av saker jag hade hemma, som: nabbipärlor, ett rutigt band, en vit fjäder, en spraymålad grankvist, färgat papper, hobbyfilt, permanent tusch, ullpärlor, knappar, tårtpapper, piprensare, tvinnat bomullssnöre, spetstejp, garn, en klädnypa, en liten trådrulle och washitejp. En paketkalender som den här kan återanvändas fler jular.

I used things I had at home, like: Ironing beads, a checkered ribbon, a white feather, a spray-painted spruce twig, colored paper, felt, permanent markers, wool beads, buttons, doileys, pipe cleaners, baker’s twine, lace tape, yarn, a clothespin, a small spool and washi tape.
