VOLVO ELECTRIC POWER STEERING CONVERSION (FULL WRITE UP Disclaimer: This write-up is for information purposes only. My 90GT (about 20 years ago) had a top end "noise". It was just the roller rockers rocking. Kinda sounded like a solid lifter setup almost. I put thousands of miles on it before removing a valve cover and finding no issues. 94 MUSTANG 5.3 LS SWAP First pass off the trailer went 11.73 @ 116, this video is the second pass and last run I went an 11.63 @ 116.98 after adding some timing. 1994 Mustang 5.3L LS Swap 11.74 @ 116.71 - YouTube. A few days later I took it out and ran it on the transbrake and got that down to an 11.58 @ 117.39 with a 1.66 60 foot. The converter is an FTI set up for REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER TO FLYWHEEL 718 Posts. #5 · Aug 15, 2003. If you go with 15% for manual and 20% for auto, divide the rwhp by .85 for manual and .80 for auto. 300 rwhp would equal 352.9 flywheel hp manual or 375 auto. In my case I'm making about 368 flywheel hp. Before I went to the dyno, I added up the minimum claimed hp increase for each of my mods and it came to 370hp.

Everything else is all 11r 190. They are pretty much magic heads that work great on a stock short block and a 408 stroker and everything in between. T. The larger engine max power production will come on sooner in the rpm simply due to the physics of it rotational geometry. PRO'S & CON'S ON POWERGLIDE FOR STREET USE... I Built a 408W with a 500hp nitrous kit (fogger system) looking to run 9.0's high 8's possibly.. Car will be driven on the street on weekends and nice days. I need a transmission, Im either looking at a C4 or powerglide. Whats the pro's and con's or either for street/strip use.IS the powerglide
NGK BKR6E6-11, GOT THESE HANDED TO ME FOR AN AUTOLITE 3924 The man at the parts counter looked the the cross-reference and said these NGK's are the same heat range as the Autolite 3924's, and they were only .20 more per plug. Can anyone find any info on these? Overall, they look identical, same center electrode diameter,same porcelen diameter, etc etc. Trying to cure this spark blow thing after5400 rpm.
WHAT ARE THE SYMTOMS OF TIMING BEING 180 OFF?? I tried to start my new motor tonight and all I get is popping, backfiring, and what appears to be flames out of the exhaust. The marks on the timing chain are lines up and I am getting fuel (*whew* I sure smell it) and spark. I was pretty thorough and made sure everthing was hooked up. I went back and forth regarding stock ECUs, or with a quarter horse, or new ECUs such as MS3, Pimp, FAST, Pro-M, etc. Settled on the Holley Terminator X primarily due to price, support, modern electronics and COMPRESSION, TRICK FLOW HEADS. 44CC OR 38CC Only difference between the 44cc and 38cc heads is the 38cc head has a shallower chamber by about 0.050" and as such the intake valve is 0.050" closer to the piston (its intake valve is different). Usually all the popular pistons have dishes set up for 42-46cc heads. Its easy to make a 44cc head 42cc if needed, its impossible to make the 38cc MT82 IN FOX SHIFTER QUESTION 408foureye said: The shifter is the least of your worries. The terminator x has 4 inputs and 4 outputs with one of the outputs being used up by the pwm iac out. The MS3 is absolutely endless. The boost control is out of this world. The traction control is out of this world. WHAT KIND OF LUBE ON NEW INJECTOR O-RINGS ? Some type of lube is necessary, IMO. FzyBnyFeet said: Nothing was on it from the factory, therefore nothing should be on it from here on out. Anything petroleum based with break down rubber O-rings. PINION NUT SO TIGHT I CAN'T TURN BUT STILL HAS PLAY IN The reason why it's so hard to turn the pinion nut is because not only are you crushing the crush collar but you're also pressing the outer pinion bearing onto the pinion gear. I used an 18" breaker bar with a 2 foot pipe on the end of it in order to turn that pinion nut. It was still hard to do. Just beacuse the motor "ran good" before you swapped it in your car does not rule out bad rings, the idea is to find out what is wrong, then to fix it!! The larger engine max power production will come on sooner in the rpm simply due to the physics of it rotational geometry. HEY EVERYONE WITH A HIGH IDLE, HERE IS YOU ANSWER. Take apart the 10 pin connectors. 3. Get a small nail and slightly crimp the female side of the connectors, this will help tighten the connectons. Do this on the complete assembly. 4. Put dielectric grease on the male side of the connectors. and reassemble. This is the fix for a stuck/high/surging idle. Why, to prevent spark leak and allow a wider gap to the plugs without having it arc through the wire, with higher voltage ignition systems. Example/case in point, near 18-1 compression, msd 7al3 and pro-power coil, is a 55,000 volt system. Spark was collapsing/blowing out with gaps larger than .030 peak performance was attained with .026" gap. BEST GEAR OIL FOR A 8.8 REAR? 1,015 Posts. #9 · Oct 4, 2012. 8.8 gear oil. I've used Redline ns gear oil. it has an additive that helps clutches work better. it's made for older 4 speed trans that used gear oil, it makes the sychros slow down quicker for faster/smoother shifting. got this info from Redline tech man. used it in three of my cars. mustangs and my 4x4suburban
WHAT'S THE BEST OIL FOR THE 5L COYOTE The best part is, the oil only has to be changed once a year, or 15,000 miles, whichever occur first. ROCKER ARM CONFUSION Joined Dec 7, 2015. ·. 3,983 Posts. #5 · 29 d ago. You may just be hearing roller rocker noise. My 90GT (about 20 years ago) had a top end "noise". It was just the roller rockers rocking. Kinda sounded like a solid lifter setup almost. I put thousands of miles on it before removing a valve cover and finding no issues. Might be hard to find one of those now, but they are out their if you are looking. Also, another good choice was the Steeda #19. N. PINION NUT SO TIGHT I CAN'T TURN BUT STILL HAS PLAY IN The reason why it's so hard to turn the pinion nut is because not only are you crushing the crush collar but you're also pressing the outer pinion bearing onto the pinion gear. I used an 18" breaker bar with a 2 foot pipe on the end of it in order to turn that pinion nut. It was still hard to do. 149 Posts. #9 · 5 mo ago. 1st off and for most, given the same head on either platform (4.6l or 5.4l) any stroke variance or bore variance, the horse power output will be the same. The larger engine max power production will come on sooner in the rpm simply due to the physics of it rotational geometry. HEY EVERYONE WITH A HIGH IDLE, HERE IS YOU ANSWER. Take apart the 10 pin connectors. 3. Get a small nail and slightly crimp the female side of the connectors, this will help tighten the connectons. Do this on the complete assembly. 4. Put dielectric grease on the male side of the connectors. and reassemble. This is the fix for a stuck/high/surging idle. Example: You pull up in the driveway or NGK BKR6E6-11, GOT THESE HANDED TO ME FOR AN AUTOLITE 3924 The man at the parts counter looked the the cross-reference and said these NGK's are the same heat range as the Autolite 3924's, and they were only .20 more per plug. Can anyone find any info on these? Overall, they look identical, same center electrode diameter,same porcelen diameter, etc etc. Trying to cure this spark blow thing after5400 rpm.
PRO'S & CON'S ON POWERGLIDE FOR STREET USE... I Built a 408W with a 500hp nitrous kit (fogger system) looking to run 9.0's high 8's possibly.. I went back and forth regarding stock ECUs, or with a quarter horse, or new ECUs such as MS3, Pimp, FAST, Pro-M, etc. Settled on the Holley Terminator X primarily due to price, support, modern electronics and SPARK PLUG WIRES: 8MM VS. 10MM WHEN AND WHY? Why, to prevent spark leak and allow a wider gap to the plugs without having it arc through the wire, with higher voltage ignition systems. Example/case in point, near 18-1 compression, msd 7al3 and pro-power coil, is a 55,000 volt system. Spark was collapsing/blowing out with gaps larger than .030 peak performance was attained with .026" gap. BEST GEAR OIL FOR A 8.8 REAR? 1,015 Posts. #9 · Oct 4, 2012. 8.8 gear oil. I've used Redline ns gear oil. it has an additive that helps clutches work better. it's made for older 4 speed trans that used gear oil, it makes the sychros slow down quicker for faster/smoother shifting. got this info from Redline tech man. used it in three of my cars. mustangs and my 4x4suburban
