OLD MANCHESTER PUBS AND CINEMAS FROM THE '60S TO '90S Recently we published a series of photos looking back at Manchester in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, from the demolished slums of Hulme to the construction of the Mancunian Way and the arrival of the Arndale. They went down a storm, particularly the images of old boozers, which we expected, and old cinemas, which we didn't. THIS IS MANCHESTER: 60 PHOTOS FROM THE 1990S The IRA bomb, the Hacienda and the birth of Metrolink - a pictorial snapshot of Manchester in the nineties. THE nineties are dominated by the IRA bomb of 15 June 1996. This injured 212 innocent people and caused £700m of damage in the prime retail area of the city. It was a miracle nobody died.
