The axon’s long and spindly shape helps the neuron reach far away cells in different parts of the brain, but there are two problems that come with that shape: 1. It makes the axons fragile, and prone to injury during concussion. Things tend to break at their weakestTEAM UP SPEAK UP
A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. It is a serious injury that requires medical attention; athletes should never continue playing with a suspected concussion. Team Up Speak Up asks athletes to look out for their teammates when it comes to concussions. GREG LENS | CONCUSSION LEGACY FOUNDATION CTE and what it means to me. Written by 11-year-old Ashton Naylor, grandson of Greg Lens. I chose to do my project on CTE because my grandfather, who played in the National Football League as well as the World Football League, suffered from and died ALL-TIME GREATEST TEAM Waiting until high school to play tackle football has not held back some of the greatest players in NFL history. We assembled the Flag Football Under 14 All-Time Greatest Team, composed entirely of players who did not start tackle football until high school, to illustrate that it is better to wait.LOUIS CREEKMUR
Louis “Lou” Creekmur was a Pro Football Hall of Fame offensive lineman and three-time NFL Champion for the Detroit Lions from 1950-1959. Creekmur was known for his legendary toughness. He played every single snap for eight straight NFL seasons, all without a facemask and often through several injuries. Skip to main contentGoogle Tag Manager
