One of the things I love to think and talk about is how I first found out about an artist, and what other music that led me to—particularly when it originated from a recommendation by someone I know. So that’s what instantlycame to mind

Taking cues from powerhouse vocalists such as Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and James Brown, Katherine Penfold’s show-stopping range and “smooth-grooving, impeccable soul funk” (Vancouver Sun) make for a night of choice R&B-infused delights. With Scott Verbeek guitar, Max Zipursky keys, Matt Reid bass, and Paul Clark drums, Penfold is “a dynamic performer and an artist SNOTTY NOSE REZ KIDS The duo of Yung Trybez and Young D, from the Haisla Nation, Kitamaat Village BC burst onto the Canadian hip-hop scene in 2017 and have shown no signs of stopping since. Most of you don’t know me because I’m one of the many people behind the scenes who works with a great team that oversees Production, Site, Artist Hospitality, Transportation, Signage and Permitting. One of the elements of my role at the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival HOW DO YOU STREAM, ANYWAY? This streaming rigmarole has almost as many permutations as there are grains of sand on the beach. In order to keep it simple for our audiences, we selected YouTube as our platform. It's available in HD; has good built-in integration with lots of different TVs, apps, and services; and solves some back-end technical problems to VOX.INFOLD | COASTAL JAZZ & BLUES SOCIETY | TD VANCOUVER Rup Sidhu Rup Sidhu's creativity crosses the boundaries of music, poetry, visual art, photography and film. His expressions engage with mythos, memory, identity, justice and fantasy; where the surreal can shatter the boundaries of the real. As a composer and sound designer he has worked with theatre and dance companies across Canada, as well as creating numerous scores for the NationalWWW.COASTALJAZZ.CA
