CINEMATIC CORNER.: STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER This mess they created here is only because of their laziness. And hopefully the box office for this movie will reflect just how disappointed the audiences are with what was done here. 23/100 (2019, USA, 141 min) Plot: The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. CINEMATIC CORNER.: THE TEN: BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES OF ALL TIME The list has 10 Christmas movies (in random order) and when the baton is handed over to a new blogger, he or she has to remove one title of the list (with an explanation why) and add one new title. God help us, I have thoughts about the trailer so CINEMATIC CORNER.: THE BEST (AND WORST) OF 2016 The eye, The Neon Demon 3. Director: Chad Stahelski. Writers: Derek Kolstad, Shay Hatten, Chris Collins &Marc Abrams.
CINEMATIC CORNER.: TOM HARDY APPRECIATION In Peaky Blinders he plays a character so intense and terrifying, it's like watching a ticking time bomb. While The Drop is far from being a great movie you are just glued to the screen because there is a promise of such darkness hiding just underneath the surface of Hardy's character.Locke is a 85 minute long movie where it's just Hardy driving a car and talking on the phone and you cannot CINEMATIC CORNER.: SCENE OF THE WEEK: KILL BILL: VOL. 2 The scene: Budd, Bill's brother, who is a bouncer in a lousy bar gets told off by his boss Larry. What we witness in that barely 3-minute long scene is an epic exchange worthy of the best of Tarantino's moments. Larry takes a marker and proceeds to cross Budd's name on the calender, which is especially funny since Budd, former assassin who is very dangerous, just stands there looking calm CINEMATIC CORNER.: EVA GREEN APPRECIATION Thursday, July 5, 2012. She was later cast in the soap opera Neighbours (2008-2011), which earned her two Logie Award nominations. After moving to the United States, Robbie starred in the short-lived ABC drama series Pan Am (2011-2012). In 2013, she made her big screendebut in
CINEMATIC CORNER.: JEAN DUJARDIN APPRECIATION After The Artist I saw many of his other films - Dujardin is very skilled in comedy, especially in James Bond parodies also directed by Michel Hazanavicius, the director of The Artist - two "OSS 117" movies where Jean plays the part of titular secret agent, very misogynistic, womanizing but also incredibly lovable and charming guy. He does wonderfully in drama too - in Le Bruit des Glacons heDROPDOWN

FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 (433) HIATUS + LINKS By sati (harlequinade) Friday, March 13, 2020Rambling Friday

* The Coronavirus situation is now extremely serious. Even though we only have 58 cases so far, the cinemas and schools here in Poland are closed. They called off the exams I was supposed to start in 11 days and have been studying for for a year. A YEAR. And 10h per day over the last 3 weeks. Just few more days and I'd be almost confident I'll pass. But now? I am furious. * I DECIDED TO PUT THE WEBSITE ON HIATUS. I don't know when the new date for my exams will be but I have nothing in draft, I have so much studying to do for God knows how much longer and now I have to go back to work because I sent request to cancel my leave since who knows when the exams will take place. So I don't know when I'll be back posting things. I'm just so tired. I can't deal with drafting posts and reading and commenting on people's websites about movies right now. I'll still be on twitter and letterboxd but not much. -------------------------Share1

* Due to the virus, new Bond movie release has been pushedto Thanksgiving.
This is insane because it came completely out of nowhere - DANIEL CRAIG is hosting SNL tomorrow and he was supposed to be on Fallon's show yesterday (apparently they called the talk show appearance off and had to get Seth Meyers instead). This can create domino effect with all the other movies moving too. I hope they deal with this scary situation soon, we already have a case in Poland. -------------------------Share3

* Well good news is that WB is already doingsome promo things
for WONDER WOMAN 1984 so that's a good sign. Maybe the marketing for this movie won't be terrible. Meanwhile, SONIC easily dethroned BOP in its second box office week. It's disgraceful how they botched that release and it won't be forgotten. -------------------------Share1

I love WONDER WOMAN and CAPTAIN MARVEL and I think they are both wonderful movies about terrific heroines. However, I cannot fully connect with them because, while they kick ass, they are so very noble and kind. Diana grew up on a paradise island, surrounded only by loving and supportive women, and Carol doesn’t fully remember her past, which explains why they aren't pissed off. Because if they knew what we know and experience what we do, they'd be very, very angry. -------------------------Share1

There were so many wonderfully shot movies in 2019, making my cinematography line up was a bit of a nightmare. It was easier with this list, seeing how many choices I could include. And 2 weeks from now, my final best and worst of 2019 list will be published, this time with record 66 categories! -------------------------Share1

* ADAM DRIVER was so funny hosting SNL. I loved his monologue and the opening bit was kinda ballsy. The science guy and Slow sketches were freaking hilarious. -------------------------Share2
