BRIDGE:WEAK TWO
Bridge: Two level preempts Brown Sticker - no specified suit. Discussion The subject of banning such coventions was rather nicely discussed in the Unsenet group rec.games.bridge in December 2003. I have archived that debate. Particularly recommended {same file} is the list of Brown Sticker conventions used in the 2003 Bermuda Bowl. which are categorised rather nicely. Overcall bring you outside "system" into "bridge" and the following simply reflects UK style, tempered by underlying weak 1NT and 4 card majors. Most "Acol" bridge is played in the modern style with takeout "Sputnik" doubles and unassuming cues available. I would recommend agreeing "sputnik up to 2 level" or whatever explicitly. BRIDGE: 2H AS WEAK IN BOTH MAJORS chrisryall.net (UK) Contract 2-level bidding v3. This early page was updated in January 2004 to reflect my own methods. In assumed fit preempting one opens at the two level with two 4+ suits, and trust in the Almighty - together with the probability (60-70%) that you can scramble an 8 card fit, or that opponents might fail to double you. The "both majors" style I like is usually opened as one BRIDGE:2S AS MUIDERBERG chrisryall.net (UK) Contract 2-level bidding v3. When opponents intervene. Over double (t.o) my partner prefers 2NT as asking for the minor (also were x=penalty!) and 3 / are then simple takouts. 3 and 4 / seems best as lead directing with spade support. 3 just is to get in the way rather than consultation.. I like redouble as involving partner in a penalising opponents - ie it sets up forcing BRIDGE: GENERIC DEFENCES TO WEAK TWO'S 1) Slow shows a stop, and 2) Slow denies stop. where 'slow' means sequences via 2NT lebensohl. When opener has doubled a red suit. 2 level bids are weak and natural. (remember partner has already assumed you have about 7 points) suits via lebensohl are intermediate - 9 BRIDGE: LUCAS TWO BIDS AND MUIDERBERG The 5/4 hand type is about 3 times as common as the 6 card suit, and it makes sense on grounds of frequency to use this as your weak two. Lucas's original definition was a weak with a five cards in diamonds or a major and a 4 card side suit. If you play it this way in first or second hand you will miss occasional games when the undisclosed suitis a major.
BRIDGE: WEAK TWO
Details :- It covers three types of holdings. A weak two bid in the majors; Balanced hand of either above or below a 2NT opening bid, by decision of the partnership; Roman 2D type, with 4-4-4-1 shape, with 17-20 points if the singleton in the minor suit and with 21-23 if singleton in the major suit. Its biggest strength is that frequently the final contract will be reached in one round - all before your opponents can communicate their values or distribution.LINKS: Home |

CHRIS RYALL - WWW.CHRISRYALL.NET - HOME PAGE Web home pages are very much in fashion now, and here is mine. Mostly I use it as a link page to things that interest me and if you have come looking for Contract Bridge, or items on Birkenhead it's here. I hope you might then try some of the other links here - just for fun. I live have moved from Cavendish Road, and now live up the hill in Chetwynd Road, still in Birkenhead, UK. I'll keep links to the famous early Victorian 226 acre Birkenhead Park for sentimental reason and because people access these. The town itself lies toward the tip of the Wirral Peninsula - separated from the city of Liverpool by the Mersey estuary and from North Wales by the ratherwider Dee estuary.
It is easy to get lost coming here - use this map tohelp you.

Much of music is based on these and the page explains why the chords differ so much for 'minor' keys. Basically they aren't the same minor! I've also made a web based generic scale and chord finder that should find the buttons you are after on any squeezebox, be that melodeon, button accordion or concertina. You can set it up to simulate your own instrument - andit's free.
