FINDING GOLD: CHINESE ON THE GOLDFIELDS OF 19TH CENTURY Permanent Exhibition. This exhibition highlights the role of Chinese Settlers during the Australian Gold Rush. The Chinese Museum’s building, located in the heart of Chinatown, was built by the Cohen Bros. in 1890 and used originally as a furniture warehouse. It was acquired in 1984 by the Victorian State Government to enable the establishment of a Museum to provide the CHINESE INK PAINTING Chinese Ink Painting. Subjects: Visual Arts / History / Intercultural Capability. Cost: $9.50 per student. Duration: 1 hour.
