BUSY BUBBERS: EMOTION FLASH CARDS So I’ve decided that I’m going to start sharing some of the joy school/toddler activities that I do with Jameser here on the blog in a series called “Busy Bubbers.”. Today’s activity comes to you via free printables that I whipped up for you all! James and I have been learning about emotions lately and I made him these flash cards MUCH THANKS TO BE GIVEN. Our Thanksgiving feast was one for the record books this year. We were with John’s family and it couldn’t have been more wonderful. We talked about how rare and precious it is to be able to be at a Thanksgiving table with a family where there are no ill feelings, no awkwardness or frustrations, but just pure, fierce, unconditional lovefor each other.

October 25, 2018
Yes, the boys have been in school for about 50 days now, but I wanted to post the pictures from the first day of school. Looking back, it’s amazing how much they’ve grown already!! Charlie has blossomed in TK, even though I was so scared and sad that he was starting full-day school. I felt panicky, like I had failed him and hadn’t taken advantage of the time we had together to teach and love and prepare before I sent him out into the world. But he was so ready to be big!! And he’s done great! I do miss him, though, and wish I had more time together alone with my baby. I was very relieved when he told me his favorite thing he did on one of the first days was “play blocks with a new buddy.” I thought, “Oh, yay! He’s still so little!!” Sometimes his handsomeness truly catches me off guard.I love baby hands.
James was very ready to get back to school. He thrives at school, and it really bleeds over into every aspect of his life. In fact, I remember that he was very difficult this summer, but he’s so angelic now that I have a hard time believing he was ever difficult! Difficult for James means loud (LOUD) and pestering to his brothers, nothing that isn’t extremely age appropriate. In fact, if it weren’t for those few things that happen once in a while, I’d forget he was still so little himself! He’s just so amazing. And of course, GusGus wanted in on the attention as well! Side note, doesn’t he look 12 here?????I faint!
We were pretty happy about this year’s backpack finds! Charlie wanted a lime green obnoxious alien one but I was able to bribe him to get that adorable map one. Probably should have let him get the backpack he wanted, but I am who I am. School has proven to change our whole family dynamic! I can’t believe all I have at home is Auggie now. We nap together every day, clean together, watch shows together and snuggle always. And the afternoon reunions of brothers are just the best! BUSY BUBBERS: GENERAL CONFERENCE BOARD AND FREE PRINTABLES!by wifeofjw //
October 4, 2018
It’s that time of the year again—General Conference!!! And with our new First Presidency and a handful of new Apostles, I thought it was a good time to update our Conference Board.
And, as a general rule for myself, I figure if I make it for my babies then someone else might like it for their babies so I provide the printables for free on my blog. I’ve never been a very goodbusinesswoman.
General Conference has become such a special weekend for our little family. It’s a time we get to relax together while hearing inspiring messages from the leaders of our Church, eat yummy food, and do some fun focus activities. And this Conference Board has sort of become the center of all of that. I made our first one about five years ago, and the boys have only grown to love it more and more and they get older. It takes an afternoon or two to assemble, but then it lasts for years and years and makes Conference prep easy and actually engages the kids so they listen better. I didn’t even tell him to do this…. Below is the link to the 38 page packet of printables for the board! I tried to make it an easy one-click process for you, but I would suggest downloading it and printing it off at Staples. This cost me about $20. You could definitely print it off at home, but that’s just a lot of ink! Everything is included in the packet. The only thing that I can’t do for you is print the pockets on patterned paper. You’d have to special request that if you go through Staples, or you can do like I did and just print them off on white card stock and draw my own doodles on them. You can use my pictures for reference of image placement, but there are a few things to go over so you don’t have to learn by mistakes like I did. First,WHAT YOU NEED:
_36 x 48 tri-fold board__printed packet_
_large roll of contact paper__scissors_
_3 brads_
_glue_
_dry erase marker_
_envelopes (optional)_ _adhesive of choice for topic and speaker cards (I used double sided tape to keep it economical)_ So a lot of it is just self-explanatory if you look at my pictures, but here are a few things: -I printed all of the colored topic cards, speaker flashcards and the clock on card stock since those pieces will be used by little hands a lot. I wanted to keep them sturdier. -I used contact paper to laminate all of the fronts of the pages, except the generic male and female leader flashcards pages and the label pages. I laminated the pages before I cut anything out so I only had to cut each thing out once. I didn’t bother laminating the generic leader cards because I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, and those leaders get released/called more often the the 12 and first presidency. I wanted everything else to last longer and to be able to be written on/have tape stuck to it and easily removed, etc.
-There are two copies of the topic cards, one is in color and one is black and white. The black and white ones get glues to the board as sort of place-holders for the colored ones so that you know where each one goes or which ones get lost, haha. -With my last board I used little Velcro dots to adhere the cards to the chairs, etc. and I did not love it. I felt like it was too difficult to match the little dots up with each other to get it secure, and it was extra money. I decided to go with double sided tape because it’s cheap, easy to connect, and easy to replace if it loses it’s stick. With the generic leadership cards, I didn’t put anything on the back to adhere, because I didn’t want them sticking to each other in their pockets. Instead, I just put a big piece of packing tape or contact paper on the back to that I can just use a rolled up piece of tape to adhere them to the podium/chairs when the time comes, and then just discard the tape afterwards so they can fit nicely back in their pockets with no problems. -I ended up cutting out all the pages of generic leaders and keep them in envelopes that I glued to the back of the board. This way I can easily and quickly update the flashcards when leaders getreleased/called.
Here is the link to the packet, in all it’s glory!! General Conference Board Packet Please let me know if you take this project on, and send me pictures!! Also, feel free to email me or Intagram me if you have any questions or if you notice any typos in the packet, haha. I hope you and your babies love this as much as our family has!!_Original post here

October 3, 2018
My baby is finally a whole hand! He’s so excited about it. This birthday was particularly special because GRAMMY AND LIBBY FLEW IN TO SURPRISE HIM!!! We didn’t tell any of the kids they were coming, and it definitely made for such a thrilling present for Charlie!! We surprised the boys at school pickup–Grammy and Libby were in the van we we drove up to get James and then….. We had Grammy and Libby come in to Charlie’s class to read a cute pumpkin book that Charlie wanted to donate to the class for his birthday! Charlie did not see it coming—he thought I would be the one to read it and then all of the sudden GRAMMY saunters into the classroom!!!! He loved it so much! That weekend was full of birthday fun. We headed to Great America for Halloween Fest and had so much fun! It is safe to say that this is a birthday Charlie will always remember. He felt so important and so loved–which he is!! Thank you SO MUCH Grammy and Libby for flying in and helping to make this birthday celebration so amazing for our boy!!! Charlie John, you are such a special boy. You feel big feelings and you try hard to be thoughtful and kind. You are a visionary and have such great ideas!! You are a ray of sunshine in our family and in the lives of everyone you meet. You laugh easily and smile hugely and love incredibly. Your brothers adore you and thank God for you specifically in their personal prayers. You are my miracle boy who has taught me so much of God’s love and Plan and of gratitude and tenderness and I am so grateful you are mine forever. Cake and cookies–his two favorite things!! Aaaaaaaaand we may have gone a little overboard with the pressies this year………. But he wasn’t complaining!! BUSY BUBBERS: LATTER-DAY SAINT LEADER FLASHCARDS!by wifeofjw //
October 1, 2018
This latest project has been one of my very favorite. I have been doing an in-depth study of each member of the First Presidency and Quorum of the 12 Apostles of our Church and part of the project was illustrating each man. I decided to make them into flashcards and could not love how they turned out more!! Neither can my babies… They have loved flipping through them and trying to remember their names and I even shared them in primary with a few interesting facts about each member. It’s fun to hear what they remember about ourleaders.
Below is the link to the free printable. I printed them on heavy card stock and laminated each page with contact paper to keep them sturdy before cutting them out. Let me know if you use them! I’d love to see pictures of you and your children playing with them!Brethren Flashcards
