ChemWeb. For 20 years Chemweb has provided the information chemists need to enhance their research, product development, self-development, education, and/or their businesses in Chemistry and related disciplines. Together with our publishing partners we were able to provide our users with free access to tens of millions of abstracts,as well as
JOURNAL OF APPLIED SPECTROSCOPY (V.75, #1) EPR spectra of barium dithionate hydrate single crystals γ-irradiated at low (80 Gy) and high (10 kGy) doses are studied. Four lines, the strongest of which is due to the SO 3 − radical, are observed in the EPR spectrum of the low-irradiated samples. Another line seems to belong to SO 2 −.The strong line and weak lines with hyperfine structure and lines for pairs of closely spaced SO 3 CURRENT PROTEIN & PEPTIDE SCIENCE (V.16, #1) In the last decade, a new class of low abundant plant l ectins was identified. These proteins are expressed after exposure of the plant to different stress factors and changing environmental conditions, and therefore are referred to as “inducible” lectins. ANTIVIRAL RESEARCH (V.78, #3) Bioluminescence imaging (BLI) has emerged as a powerful new modality for studies of viral infection and therapy in small animal models. BLI technology captures the light emitted from different luciferase enzymes to detect sites of viral infection and quantify viral replication in the context of a living animal. POLYMER CHEMISTRY (V.8, #30) Graphene (G) and its composites have attracted a lot of interest in recent years due to their high biocompatibility, large surface area, excellent electrical conductivity, and unique thermal properties. THE JOURNAL OF SUPERCRITICAL FLUIDS (V.19, #2) The purpose of this work is to compare two models, which are able to perform Vapor–Liquid Equilibrium (VLE) predictions. The first one, the LCVM model, is an EoS/G E one and it has been successfully applied in the prediction of the VLE behavior of polar and non-polar systems, as well as, systems of dissimilar component size, such as those containing gases with large n-alkanes. TETRAHEDRON LETTERS (V.49, #33) The mild, efficient and rapid O-debenzylation of ortho-substituted phenols with TFA is reported. The mild and efficient deblocking of aryl benzyl ethers with TFA is reported.Cleavage was fastest with ortho-electron-withdrawing groups on the phenolic ring, which we have attributed to a proton chelation effect, furnishing the deprotected phenols in excellent yields. EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY (V.37, #4) The synthesis and pharmacological properties of novel conformationally restricted arylpiperazine (2b–4b) or 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (5b and 6b) derivatives of the known, flexible 5-HT 1A receptor ligands 2a–6a (K i =0.95–7 nM) with different intrinsic activities are reported.Replacement of a tetramethylene chain with a 1e,4e-disubstituted cyclohexane ring in the structure of JOURNAL OF POWER SOURCES (V.310, #C) Calcium ferrite (CaFe 2 O 4)-type Li x Mn 2 O 4 was prepared via high-pressure and soft chemical synthesis method. The framework structure of CaFe 2 O 4-type NaMn 2 O 4 was synthesized from the stoichiometric mixture of Na 2 CO 3 and MnO 2 annealed by 1273 K for 1 h under 4.5 GPa. Na/Li ion-exchange of the CaFe 2 O 4-type NaMn 2 O 4 was carried out by soaking molten LiNO 3 at 633 K for 12 KOREAN JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING (V.30, #6) Changes in the CO 2 absorption rates and capacities of the absorbent 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP), blended with NH 3 and other additives, were investigated toward performance improvement. The NH 3-blended absorbent removed CO 2 more efficiently than the AMP absorbent alone. However, absorbent loss through NH 3 evaporation was observed under these conditions.CHEMWEB

CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY (V.7, #5) Background: Chemically induced dimerization (CID) can be used to manipulate cellular regulatory pathways from signal transduction to transcription, and to create model systems for study of the specific interactions between proteins and small-molecule chemical ligands. However, few CID systems are currently available. The properties of, and interactions between, Escherichia coli dihydrofolate POLYMER CHEMISTRY (V.8, #30) Graphene (G) and its composites have attracted a lot of interest in recent years due to their high biocompatibility, large surface area, excellent electrical conductivity, and unique thermal properties. MATERIALS RESEARCH BULLETIN (V.46, #11) Structural evolution of the double perovskites Sr 2 B′UO 6 (B′ = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn) upon reduction: Magnetic behavior of the uranium cations by R.M. Pinacca; M.C ENZYME AND MICROBIAL TECHNOLOGY (V.29, #10) Production of egg yolk lysolecithin was compared using free phospholipase A 2 (PLA 2) and immobilized PLA 2 in alginate-silicate sol-gel matrix. Choice of solvent, water content, calcium, and temperatures changed the activity of the free and immobilized PLA 2 a lot, owing to their effects on the catalytic properties of the enzyme as well as the conformational change of lecithin in ethanol ANTIVIRAL RESEARCH (V.78, #3) Bioluminescence imaging (BLI) has emerged as a powerful new modality for studies of viral infection and therapy in small animal models. BLI technology captures the light emitted from different luciferase enzymes to detect sites of viral infection and quantify viral replication in the context of a living animal. COLLOID AND POLYMER SCIENCE (V.289, #12) Colloid nanocrystals (NCs) mainly include metal nanocrystals, semiconductor nanocrystals, and insulator nanocrystals, exhibiting interesting size-dependent electrical, optical, magnetic, and chemical properties that cannot be achieved by their bulk counterparts. JOURNAL OF ANALYTICAL AND APPLIED PYROLYSIS (V.55, #2 Pyrolysis (py) coupled with gas chromatographic (GC) separation and mass spectrometric (MS) detection is routinely used to identify intractable polymers including cross-linked rubbers. For 20 years Chemweb has provided the information chemists need to enhance their research, product development, self-development, education, and/or their businesses in Chemistry and related disciplines. Together with our publishing partners we were able to provide our users with free access to tens of millions of abstracts, as well as featured papers. Changes in search algorithms resulted in a dramatic decline in traffic and a corresponding drop in revenue. Without the resources necessary to maintain the highest quality content we have made the difficult decision to close the site. Our thanks and gratitude to our users and publishers for your support over these many years. The ChemWeb TeamDetails
