The Middle East beauty market has some key characteristics that makes it unique to the rest of the world. We have acquired an intimate knowledge and an extensive experience of the Middle East beauty markets and consumers over the past 60 years. We have built long standing and strong partnerships with key international and local brands based on respect and trust. We collaborate with luxurious selective and masstige brands, create our own concepts, partner and support local brands reinforcing our Group’s position as the leading partner for beauty brands in the region. Due to this extensive portfolio, we offer our partners one point of access to all markets with tailormade agreements helping them develop their brands in the region whether through finding the right distribution network, choosing the right positioning or select the most appropriate retail network. We apply hands on expertise and market knowledge to maximise penetration and visibility through appropriate local networks, direct to retail, specific point of sales, concessions and department stores, e-commerce. Today, Beauty represents 49% of our activity. Some of our brands include Puig, L’Occitane, Make Up for Ever, Smashbox and Molton Brown, Estée Lauder, and Christian Dior Parfums. EXPERTISE – FASHION & ACCESSORIES The Middle East fashion sector has been growing rapidly. Over the past six decades, we succeeded in building fashion brands in the region by leveraging our strong knowledge of the market, of the consumers, and of the new trends. For us, it is essential to grasp our customers who are constantly evolving. Understanding the channels they use to get information on the products, the reasons they choose one brand over another, the way they spend, and their connection to labels in general, is crucial to better serve them. From ultimate luxury brands to aspirational and more affordable ones, we aim to develop brands in the region turning them into market leaders via one touch point. We have a team of experts continuously developing their knowledge and skills in each of the fashion categories we operate in: women, men, children, fashion accessories as well as footwear, lingerie and swimwear. This is reflected in the buying selection and forecasting and in the identification of the right brands whether in representation, distribution, or retail. Leveraging on our knowledge of the luxury industry and the GCC consumer’s behaviors, we decided to embark on a new journey in the F&B world; creating a dedicated division which aims to bring and develop innovative restaurant concepts in the Middle East region. WRITING INSTRUMENTS AND WATCHES The luxury writing instruments and watches industry in the Middle East remains a highly relevant and growing category for a long time. Over the years, we have been collaborating with international brands such as S.T. Dupont, Waterman and Tag Heuer and are looking to expand and develop this category further in the region.FACTORY OUTLET
Since the Group’s expansion into Retail Fashion, it was necessary to create our own liquidation channel. Therefore, we opened THE DEAL, with a vision to build it in outlet malls.TRAVEL RETAIL
We operate travel retail services in various formats across the region for decades. Either through the management of duty free shops at International Airports, or concessions in the Duty Free as well as the in-flight duty free of several airlines in the region.OUR OWN CONCEPTS
We have created six multi-brand concepts, unique in their own way, designed to fill a gap in the market with choice, width and depth. With every ‘Light’ candle purchased you donate towards an education programme to help emergency affected, displaced and low-income youth in Jordan with Dubai Cares. With every ‘Hope’ candle purchased you give hope to cancer patients by contributing to financing their treatment with Friends ofCancer Patients.

The Chalhoub Group, the leading partner for luxury across the Middle East, is proud to join both Dubai Care’s mission to support the education of children and young people and Friends of Cancer Patient’s (FOCP) to back the fight against cancer by supporting patients financially and morally through the CSR retail campaign ‘Together we Shine’. Light and Hope candles are available in Chalhoub Group’s stores across the UAE. The contributions collected from the ‘Light’ candle will go towards an education program focused on providing e-learning solution to help emergency affected, displaced and low-income youth in Jordan with Dubai Cares. The contributions collected from the ‘Hope’ candle will go towards financing the treatment of cancer patients in the UAE with FOCP. ‘Amal’ is the Arabic word for “Hope”, a lavender scented candle whereas ‘Nur’ is the Arabic word for “Light”, an amber vanilla scented candle. Each candle is priced at 35AED and all the proceeds will be donated to the charity partners. Since 2017, a dedicated team works towards its North Star Vision of transforming Chalhoub Group from a traditional distributor and retailer for luxury in the Middle East, to a hybrid retailer bringing luxury experiences to the fingertips of customers everywhere. Under the leadership of Rania Masri, Chief Transformation Officer – the transformation team, “Shift,” is supporting all business units within the organization to develop initiatives focusing on new ways of working, implementing tech-enabled solutions and ensuring that systems are in place for continued growth and longevity of the business. The strategy behind the transformation plan is anchored by seven guiding principles which encourage employees to make bold moves, celebrate and learn from successes and failures, to think hybrid and global from the outset; all the while with the customer at the heart. The core elements of the Group’s transformation are the Greenhouse accelerator program and “Ibtikar” the internal incubator. The Greenhouse is a unique retail tech-accelerator program focused on accelerating technology-driven solutions catered towards fast growing retail startups. The Greenhouse will be welcoming the first cohort of startups at the end of September. Each of the 5 selected startups (StoreDNA, SizeMe, Phygitalmind, EuroPass and Brandquad) will receive a $20,000 grant for a three-month, equity-free accelerator program – offering them market access and retail expertise through the Group’s partnerships with over 300 brands, more than 600 retail outlets and in depth regional coverage of 14 countries. “Ibtikar”, Chalhoub Group’s internal incubator under the Greenhouse offers an opportunity to any employee to lead and develop a business idea related to the Group’s North Star Vision. “Ibtikar” is already into its second group of intrapreneurs. Through dedicated time and funding to test and prove their ideas, tailored training programs and mentorship, Chalhoub employees are encouraged to adopt more agile ways of working. The Greenhouse is located in Dubai Design District, which forms part of the Group’s investment into the D3 community with its unique position in the heart of Dubai. Animated by the energy of its designers, entrepreneurs and creative thinkers, Dubai Design District is a meeting point for innovation and creative hub, representing the overall direction of the city, where passion meets purpose. The Greenhouse is set to open a dedicated workspace for startups of the accelerator program and the internal incubator “Ibtikar” by October – alongside a dynamic and rigorous events program. The events will feature founder stories, workshops, hackathons and training sessions for Chalhoub team members and selected partners across the community. In line with its ambition to promote and support education in the Middle East region, Chalhoub Group, the leading partner for luxury across the Middle East has launched its yearly education retail campaign in collaboration with Dubai Cares, the UAE-based philanthropic organisation working towards providing children in developing countries with access to quality primary education. The campaign will offer customers the opportunity to buy silver pins with the word “education” written in Arabic calligraphy. The pins will be available for two months (May & June) in all Chalhoub Group stores across the UAE at a price of AED 25 per pin. The campaign will help spread awareness about education as well as raise funds that will go towards schools in the Arab world. “We have been in the region for the past 60 years and it is our responsibility to give back to the people living in this part of the world. As a Group, we have adopted the cause of education as a key channel to accelerate the development process believing that it is the first and foundational step in understanding how to address today’s social and environmental challenges in the region.
