DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONS 1. Mandate The Department of Operations draws its mandate from the Central Bank Act of 2000 and Payment Systems Act of 2014 respectively. As part of that mandate, it offers banking services to the Government and its agencies, commercial banks and international agencies. OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS The principal objective of the Central Bank of Lesotho, as stipulated in the Central Bank of Lesotho Act of 2000, is to achieve and maintainprice stability.
