COVID-19 UPDATE
To our clients and families receiving treatment at the Center for Eating Disorders (CED): Michigan’s Governor Whitmer issued an announcement late Friday, 3/13, asking all healthcare facilities to transfer to as much remote-based care as possible in the fight to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Visit this link for further information about the Governor’s announcement: https://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/2020/03/gov-whitmer-bans-non-essential-hospital-visitors-urges-public-meetings-go-virtual.html?fbclid=IwAR1rWp-8kKSYm3L0jMv0bqRd9Fu14fhE-MVhYsJz1Gc7SqvrbvHYhhCTJtk To that end, while our CED office will remain open until further notice, we are in the process of implementing remote treatment options for our clients at this time in compliance with Governor Whitmer's statement. Current clients will be contacted by their individual treatment provider/s regarding further details. In the meantime, to protect staff and other clients, we ask that any clients experiencing fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing to schedule remote sessions and we ask that only essential family members/loved ones accompany clients to in-personsessions.
We will continue to keep you updated on our website and on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/centerforeatingdisorders regarding any further developments related to how we are addressing the prevention of COVID-19 at CED. By working together as a community we can achieve the best outcome in this fight._3/11/20_
COVID-19 UPDATE
TO OUR CLIENTS: With the recent identification of COVID-19 cases in Michigan, we at the Center for Eating Disorders (CED are monitoring the news and recommendations about the outbreak and are involved in ongoing discussions about how best to practice prevention efforts within our outpatient facility. Along with implementing recommended prevention guidelines, we are providing additional hand sanitizer and anti-viral tissue throughout CED as well as antiseptic cleansing wipes for surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom, and other common areas. We strongly recommend that every client follow the prevention guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), outlined below. For those who feel ill or suspect they may have been exposed to COVID-19 feel free to contact your therapist to arrange telephone or Skype sessions during the time you are confined to your home. Inaddition:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick. • Avoid touching your face. • Stay home when you are sick. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue inthe trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. We will keep you updated on this page regarding any new developments. For additional information and updates about the Coronavirus outbreak, visit the Center for Disease Control website (https://www.cdc.gov/), Michigan COVID-19 information site (https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus) or the World Health Organization website (https://www.who.int/). Thank you for your patience. With these precautions, we can help prevent the spread of the virus in our state.First Step
