Catherine Couturier Gallery is the premier art gallery for fine art photography in Houston Texas. A member of Aipad, the gallery evolved from John Cleary Gallery, which was established in 1996. Catherine Couturier has owned the gallery since 2008 and the name was changed to Catherine Couturier Gallery in 2012. This blog is to share information about our exhibitions, artists, special pieces for STILL IN THE STUDIO: WENDI SCHNEIDER Catherine Couturier Gallery presents Still in the Studio, the 2021 edition of Safe in the Studio, a blog series launched in spring 2020 in response to the pandemic. With each blog post, works will be highlighted and discounted 20% for one week following the post’s publishing date. This week, the gallery is pleased to present the following post by gallery artist Wendi Schneider: SPOTLIGHT: IDA WYMAN Spotlight: Ida Wyman " I did not consciously think about why I wanted the photo at that moment except that it pleased something within me. I have thought about this many years later as a certain synchrony of heart, eye and brain." Ida Wyman is one of the most fascinating artists in photphotography today.SUSAN BURNSTINE
Susan Burnstine is an award winning fine art and commercial photographer originally from Chicago now based in Los Angeles. Susan is represented in galleries across the world, widely published throughout the globe and has also written for several photography magazines, including a monthly column for Black & White Photography(UK).

Henry Gilpin. Born in 1922, Henry Gilpin had a lifelong interest in photography. After an Ansel Adams workshop in 1959, Henry's skill and passion for photography dominated his life. Print Making. I originally started making black & white prints, but was soon drawn to experiment with color. Color printing in the late '70s was fairly primitive, but there was one process with a mythical reputation that offered tremendous control—dye transfer. Color printing in the late '70s was fairly primitive, but there was one process with a mythical reputation that offered tremendous control—dye transfer. With each blog post, works will be highlighted and discounted 20% for one week following the post’s publishing date. This week, the gallery is pleased to present the following post by gallery artist Wendi Schneider: SPOTLIGHT: IDA WYMAN Spotlight: Ida Wyman " I did not consciously think about why I wanted the photo at that moment except that it pleased something within me.
