For reasons unbeknownst to me, the Minolta SRT series always seems to get left in the lurch when it comes to the mechanical SLR discussion. This is the camera series that bestowed open-aperture metering to the masses, gave us our first taste of matrix metering with Minolta’s patented CLC System, and, in my opinion, comes closest to the feeling of shooting an M LEITZ 21MM F/4 SUPER ANGULON R In the Leica R mount lens system, the 21mm F/4 Super Angulon R presents a great value. It makes beautiful images, is very versatile, and is very affordable compared to other ultra-wides in the system (the 19mm F/2.8 Elmarit-R lens tends to cost over $2,000, and the 24mm costs slightly more than this 21mm and isn’t as wide). VOIGTLÄNDER ULTRON 35MM F/1.7 LEICA THREAD MOUNT LENS REVIEW The maximum aperture of f/1.7 is relatively fast for a 35mm lens, and was designed specifically to one-up the f/2 Leica Summicron. The Ultron, in fact, is one of the fastest 35mm lens ever made in Leica Thread Mount (second only to Canon’s 35/1.5). Even the name seems designed to win a game of top-trumps. Not the $3,000 WM1Z, which is the company’s modern, high-resolution digital music player and likely the greatest portable music player ever created.No, instead what arrived in my mailbox was the WM-F35, which at 33 years old is a few months older than I and plays cassette tapes.. While the WM1Z digital player has 250 gigabytes of storage, plays LEICA ELMARIT-TL 18MM F/2.8 ASPHERICAL LENS REVIEW Shot wide open at F/2.8, the Elmarit-TL 18mm F/2.8 Aspherical performs really well, if not ever being exceptional. As mentioned earlier and as expected by old hands, the center of the frame shows average sharpness, and edges do not. Viewed on a phone screen or small monitor, this softness in the edges and corners won’t make anydifference.

Sadly, my parents had already sold their Minolta film SLRs and so I went on the hunt for a new old camera. I roamed the streets of my hometown peeking through shop windows and rummaging through shelves until I finally spotted my prey. Hidden behind Polaroids and point-and-shoots, I could NIKON NIKKOR 50MM F/1.8 LONGNOSE LENS REVIEW Compared to the 50mm F/1.8 AFs the saturation and contrast keep up but a drop in resolution is observed. Internally things are more complicated, but we can tell the difference by removing the top plate and observing the coloring ofwires
