The goals of a Policy Lab are to make connections between the participants, to share information and resources, and to make progress on complex public policy issues affecting Canadians. CANADA FOOD BRAND PROJECT Canada aspires to be the world’s most trusted and sustainable food supplier – and create economic success from doing so. Exactly HOW to achieve this is the issue. Even as we continue to manage life during the pandemic, we start to look beyond it, towards something better, we hope. In Canada, the idea of a universal basic income has been circulating for decades. THE CASE FOR A CARBON TAX IN CANADA A $40/t CO2 carbon tax would raise on the order of $25 billion per year. Since under an equalization scheme as described above, provinces would keep all carbon tax revenues, this decision would be made at the provincial level.
