Building a Healthier America, State by State. Action Coalitions in every state and Washington, D.C., carry out the work of the Campaign at the local, regional, and state levels. Advocates from the community including representatives from health organizations, businesses, education, and more are building healthier communities throughnursing.

LEADING HEALTH EQUITY FOR NATIVE AMERICAN NURSES Beginning in 2021, the toolkit will be introduced in the Campaign’s mentoring support programs for Native American-serving schools of nursing through US tribal colleges and universities, Native American serving institutions and programs, and in partnership with the Federal Indian Health Service (IHS) Native Americans into Nursing Programs. Objectives: Examine how structural racism and social injustice impacts the wellbeing of LET’S TALK ABOUT CLIMATE AND HEALTH Last year, the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE) launched the Nurses Climate Challenge to leverage public trust in nurses’ voices. MONTANA ACTION COALITION The mission of the Montana Center to Advance Health through Nursing (MTCAHN), which houses the Montana Action Coalition, is to improve the health of Montanans by leading nursing practice and education through collaboration.The MTCAHN brings together nurses and leaders from practice, education, and regulation to accomplish our goals. Primary efforts include promoting academic TEXAS EASES RESTRICTION ON NURSE PRACTITIONERS Texas Eases Restriction on Nurse Practitioners. Texas has signed into law legislation that removes some red tape that will help people have better access to care provided by advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). The bill signed by Gov. Greg Abbott earlier this month lifts the need for face-to-face meetings between APRNs and physicians. FLORIDA ACTION COALITION Formed in 2011, the Florida Action Coalition aims to provide leadership in advancing the nursing profession so that Floridians can access safe, high quality health care.
