Cálem is wine. It's Douro. It's Porto. In 1859, António A. Cálem set his goals: crossing the Atlantic and exporting to Brazil. With this connection to Brazil, story of adventure begins: wines are exported using Cálem's own fleet in exchange for exotic woods. Hencethe

PORTFOLIO | PORTO CÁLEM The full selection of Port Wines created by Cálem. The result of the art of blending. The wines age in small and large wooden casks for long periods of time, with the blend being bottled just before it is released on the market. HISTORY | PORTO CÁLEM 1965. Cálem warehouses, from 1930 to 2021. The generations that followed worked tirelessly to ensure worldwide recognition. In doing so, the brand amassed numerous awards for elegance, character, and quality in its wines. A century and a half into its journey, Porto Cálem truly represents the world of wine its founder envisioned. DOURO | PORTO CÁLEM Douro. 247.000 hectares. In 1756, the Douro became the first demarcated and regulated region in the world. In 2001, a good part of its 247,000 hectares was certified as UNESCO World Heritage. Centennial vineyards and new plantations, 114 autochthonous varieties that find their cradle in oftentimes nearly dramatic scenarios. CONTACTS | PORTO CÁLEM Heart of gaia and ribeirinha zone. HOW MANY TYPES OF PORT WINE ARE THERE? Port wine can be broadly divided into four types: Rosé, White, Tawny, Ruby Rosé. Easy and uncomplicated wines, perfect for drinking cold or in cocktails. White. Fruity and floral wines, with different levels of sweetness and acidity, excellent for pairing with salty or sournibbles.
AT WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD PORT WINE BE SERVED? If the temperature is too high, the taste of alcohol will stand out and the aromas of the wine will be almost impossible to taste. If the temperature is too low, the wine will have no distinctive taste as it will be difficult to capture its aromas. These are the temperatures we recommend: Rosé Port: 6°C. White Port: 10°-12°C. Tawny Port: 14 HOW SHOULD A BOTTLE OF PORT WINE BE STORED? Before being opened, the bottle should be stored in a place at an average temperature of never above 16°C, avoiding big fluctuations in temperature. It should also be sheltered from direct light. If it is a Ruby port, keep the bottle horizontally. If it is a Tawny port, the bottle can be stored standing up. Once open, both should be kept away from light and high temperatures.PORTO CÁLEM

Cálem é vinho.
É Douro. É Porto.
É Portugal no mundo do vinho.
