Therefore, the Chinese conceived special rites and rituals associated with each of these occasions. Traditionally, when death occurred in a Peranakan home, white masking tapes would mark an “X FIRST WEEKEND OF EVERY MONTH : REGULAR GUIDED WALKS In response to requests for forward planning from interested participants, atBB will commit to conducting regular guided walks at set time slot every first Saturday and Sunday of the month. Due to the road constructions, there are new access roads into Bukit Brown cemetery and the former entrance is closed and inaccessible. As there are two roads going in, we have two new meeting points depending on which part of the cemetery the guided walk will cover. It is what the Goh brothers have become most known for in the public consciousness, ironically because of the unexpected controversy which erupted in 2011 when the government revealed plans to build an 8 -lane highway across the last remaining Chinese cemetery, one with a history dating back to the 1800s. The Goh brothers had started to explore THE HINDU DAY OF REMEMBRANCE : BUKIT BROWN: WORLD The Hindu Day of Remembrance. by Sugen Ramiah 1 November 2013. Like the Chinese who observe the annual “qing ming” or tomb sweeping festival in April, the Indians also honour their ancestors with a visit to their ancestors tombs on the Hindu day of remembrance. Chong Chew’s tomb was a remake when he was re-interred from his family burial ground in Telok Blangah to Seh Ong. Date on tomb -1888. Due to the road constructions, there are new access roads into Bukit Brown cemetery and the former entrance is closed and inaccessible. As there are two roads going in, we have two new meeting points depending on which part of the cemetery the guided walk will cover.
