INTRO TO WEB DEV V2
Intro to Web Dev v2 - Videos on Frontend Masters Table of Contents. Introduction to the Course; Overview of What You'll Be Learning InThis Course
COMPLETE INTRO TO REACT V5 COMPLETE INTRO TO REACT V4 Welcome to the complete introduction to React v4. This is the fourth revision of this course and the most comprehensive one yet. While the previous three courses were all modifications of the same app, this one is brand new, re-written from the ground up. COMPLETE INTRO TO DATABASES Complete intro to using databases from Brian Holt on MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Neo4j COMPLETE INTRO TO LINUX AND THE CLI The complete intro to using Linux and the command line as taught byBrian Holt
COMPLETE INTRO TO REACT V5 To make an element have multiple children, just pass it an array of elements. We created a second new component, the Pet component. This component represents one pet. FOUR SEMESTERS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE IN SIX HOURS Big O is the way we analyze how efficient algorithms (or code in this case) without getting too mired in the details. We can model how much time any function is going to take given n inputs, but in reality we're interested in the order of magnitude of the number and necessarily of the exact figure.. Example: I don't particularly care if a function takes 300 milliseconds versus 330 milliseconds COMPLETE INTRO TO REACT V5 In previous versions of this course we used various iterations of the React Router.React Router is a fantastic library and you should give serious consideration to using it in your project. MAKING OUR OWN ALPINE NODE.JS CONTAINER Okay so now if you do docker build -t my-node -f my-node.Dockerfile . it'll build your new image.-t is --tag and -f is --file which is what tells Docker is the name of your Dockerfile you're using (otherwise it assumes you're using a file called exactly Dockerfile.)Now try docker run -it my-node.In here you should have a pretty bare bones Linux container but both node -v and npm -v should work. IN PURSUIT OF PURSUIT 13. March 2014. Being Interviewed for Fluent Conf 2014. I had the good fortune of being able to speak at Fluent Conf 2014. While that video is forthcoming, I also had the unique opportunity to be interviewed by Brian McDonald about the JavaScript framework wars.INTRO TO WEB DEV V2

Welcome to an intro to web development. I'm really excited to teach you a bit about how to become a web developer. In this course we assume you know absolutely nothing about writing code. Hello and welcome to the the Complete Intro to Linux and the CLI! This is an introduction on how to use the command line and in the process you will be learning Linux too.INTRO TO WEB DEV V2
Intro to Web Dev v2. We're going to start building our very first website. At first our website is going be pretty ugly but it's still going to be functional! We're going to be using the language HTML, or hypertext markup language. This isn't a programming language since it doesn't actually do anything. USEEFFECT – CORE REACT CONCEPTS – COMPLETE INTRO TO REACT V6 We have enough to start making some requests now. We want the app to request an initial set of pets on initial load of the page. So let's make that happen using a special hook called useEffect.useEffect allows you to say "do a render of this component first so the user can see something then as soon as the render is done, then do something (the something here being an effect.) CHROOT – CRAFTING CONTAINERS BY HAND – COMPLETE INTRO TO chroot is the first of the important Linux kernel features that allow us to create contained processes without a whole virtualization layer. Brian shows how to use chroot MANAGING STATE IN CLASS COMPONENTS handleIndexClick = event => { this.setState({ active: +event.target.dataset.index }); }; onClick={this.handleIndexClick} data-index={index} This is how you handle events in React class components. If it was keyboard handler, you'd do an onChange or onKeyUp, etc. handler. Notice that the handleIndexClick function is anarrow function.
BROWSERSLIST
Via a package called browserslist (which Parcel installed for you) you can Babel what browsers to target. Head to browserslist.dev. Here you can see what sorts of queries you can provide to browsers and which browsers those will provide. By default Parcel uses > .25% IN PURSUIT OF PURSUIT Null to Node 2013 Lesson 4. It was a mild success but it was great for me because I had the the opportunity to speak for several hours to large-ish groups of people. I only took one screencast of those lessons but I’m happy to share it here below. By the way, it’s pretty long and you can’t always here me. I wasn’t wearing a microphone and you can only hear me when I’m next to the computer. Sorry!more

FLUENT CONF 2013: LIGHTNING TALK This was in May of 2013 where I gave my first real talk at a conference. It was an Ignite talk. Ignite, for those who don’t know, is a format where you have 20 slides that rotate automatically every 20 seconds. It’s both a fun and a challenging way to give a presentation. I practiced a lot but that didn’t stop me from being incredibly nervous. It was still a great experience. Check itout below.
