Appeal for Contributions - Police Reserve Message from SEAMUS POWER There is an initiative afoot to attempt a written history of the BSA Police Reserve. Paul Brewster, who is former police officer and member of the United Kingdom Branch, assisting with history objectives, is willing to put together a manuscript ably assisted by Seamus Power, whom you all know spent much time as an officer responsible for Police Reserve at the Hard Square. They would like to collect anecdotal material from former members of the Police Reserve, and if available copies of any documents which one might consider useful for this purpose. Any references to Police Reserve in books and papers already written and published would also be useful. Seamus says, “I am appealing to the Group for help by writing up their own Police Reserve experiences, information about, knowledge of what they did, and to ask any Reservist they know to assist. In other words the works. These men and women gave much and I doubt we would have managed as well as we did without their freely given help. A bit of repayment to give them their rightful place in history is overdue.” If you can help, please contact _ Seamus Power _ Latest Outposts Current Editions: * Outpost Australia: Summer 2020 * Western Cape Association Outpost December 2019 * Transvaal Outpost September 2019 * United Kingdom Outpost: Edition 100 - Winter 2018 * Mashonaland Branch Newsletter: Edition III - Winter 2019 Several Branches of the Regimental Association produce periodic newsletters or magazines for distribution to their members.
