While at the New School, he learned about the various ways that communities of color are marginalized. Lauren is currently a staff attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice. She was previously in the Family Defense Practice, from 2010-2016, where she represented hundreds of indigent parents charged with abuse or neglect in Bronx Family Court proceedings in an effort to keep families together and prevent termination of parental rights.
